Structural Diagram of Prefabricated Slab Houses

Admin September 19, 2026

It is not possible to directly provide a structural diagram of prefabricated slab houses, but their structural characteristics and constituent elements can be introduced.

Prefabricated slab houses are structures that use prefabricated slabs as the main load-bearing components for floors or walls, and their structural design has unique features.

From the perspective of the overall structural system, prefabricated slab houses typically adopt a frame structure or a brick-concrete structure. In a frame structure, prefabricated slabs are mainly used as floor slabs and are placed on a frame composed of prefabricated or cast-in-place beams and columns. This structural system offers good flexibility in space division and overall seismic performance, with the prefabricated slabs playing a role in horizontal load-bearing and space division. In a brick-concrete structure, prefabricated slabs also serve as floor slabs, but the vertical load-bearing components of the house are mainly brick walls, on which the prefabricated slabs are placed to transfer vertical loads through the brick walls.

There are also various types of prefabricated slabs themselves. Common ones include solid prefabricated slabs and hollow prefabricated slabs. Solid prefabricated slabs have a relatively simple manufacturing process and good overall integrity, but they are heavier and have higher requirements for the foundation and overall structural load-bearing capacity of the house. Hollow prefabricated slabs, on the other hand, have a certain number of holes inside the slab. This significantly reduces the self-weight of the slab while ensuring a certain load-bearing capacity, saving materials and also reducing the overall weight of the house, thus having relatively lower requirements for the foundation.

In terms of the structural hierarchy of the house, prefabricated slab houses generally include components such as foundations, walls, floor slabs, and roofs. The foundation bears all the loads of the house and transfers them to the ground; in addition to bearing their own weight and some loads from the floor slabs, walls also serve as enclosures and space dividers; the prefabricated slabs, as floor slabs, provide living space for people and bear live loads such as those from people and furniture, as well as dead loads like the self-weight of the slabs; the roof serves to protect the interior of the house from the external environment by providing shelter from wind and rain and thermal insulation.
