Reinforcement Design for Prefabricated Slab Houses

Admin September 18, 2026

The reinforcement design for prefabricated slab houses can select the following scientific and reasonable methods based on actual needs and conditions:

1. Section Enlargement Reinforcement Method
By adding a post-cast layer of reinforced concrete no less than 40mm thick on the surface or bottom of the prefabricated slab, a rigid floor or roof is formed. If surface pouring is chosen, construction is relatively simple; if a composite layer is poured at the bottom, the bottom surface needs to be roughened and the喷射法 (jetting method) should be used for construction to ensure tight bonding between the new and old concrete. This method can significantly enhance the overall stiffness of the structure and is suitable for reinforcing floor slabs with insufficient load-bearing capacity.

2. Carbon Fiber Sheet Bonding Reinforcement Method
Using structural adhesive, carbon fiber sheets are bonded along the span direction to the tensioned bottom surface of the slab. Carbon fiber sheets are characterized by high strength and light weight, adding minimal weight to the original component and not affecting the structural appearance. This method can effectively improve the load-bearing capacity and stiffness of the structure, especially suitable for scenarios with high spatial requirements.

3. Structural Load Path Modification Reinforcement Method
Beams and columns are added beneath the prefabricated slab to adjust the load transfer path, reduce the bending moment of the slab, and enhance the structural load-bearing capacity. This method requires design in conjunction with the building layout to ensure that the newly added components work in harmony with the original structure, suitable for situations with severe local load-bearing deficiencies.

4. Prefabricated Slab Replacement and Connection Reinforcement
High-strength, high-performance prefabricated slab materials are selected to replace the original weak slab components, while methods such as adding connecting reinforcement and strengthening joints are used at the connections for reinforcement. This method can thoroughly resolve issues of material aging or design defects, but the construction period is longer and the cost is higher.

5. Wall and Foundation Reinforcement

  • Grouting Reinforcement Method: Grout is injected into walls or foundations to fill cracks and voids, enhancing overall strength and stability and improving seismic resistance.
  • Steel Mesh Reinforcement Method: Steel mesh is laid on the surface of walls or floor slabs, and a composite structure is formed by spraying concrete, improving crack resistance and load-bearing capacity.
  • Steel Plate Bonding Reinforcement Method: Steel plates are bonded to cracks in walls or floor slabs, and stress is transferred through structural adhesive to restore structural integrity.

6. Foundation Reinforcement and Support Enhancement

  • Foundation Reinforcement: Methods such as enlarging the foundation size, deepening the foundation, or adding steel mesh are used to enhance the foundation's load-bearing capacity; adding reinforcement agents or sealing materials can further improve seismic resistance.
  • Additional Support Reinforcement Method: Support components are added to walls or roofs to disperse loads and enhance structural stability.
  • I-Beam Crossbeam Reinforcement: Based on the profile size, the placement density is determined (e.g., 20# steel arranged at intervals), crossing the prefabricated slab in an 'X' shape and fixed to the walls at both ends with steel columns to enhance floor slab hardness.

7. Composite Structure Reinforcement Method
A layer of concrete is added on top of the prefabricated slab, with part of the slab components removed in the middle to form crossbeams, and vertical beams are added to form an 'X' beam system, integrating the beams with the floor slab. This method requires simultaneous reinforcement of the walls to ensure coordinated force transmission in the structure, suitable for the overall renovation of multi-story prefabricated slab houses.
