Prefabricated Slab Building Structure Diagram

Admin September 19, 2026

Currently, there is no directly publicly available, universal complete structural diagram of prefabricated slab buildings for display, but we can introduce its structural composition and related construction schematics.

Main Component of Prefabricated Slab Buildings - Prefabricated Slabs

Prefabricated slabs are the core components of prefabricated slab buildings. They are cement components pre-fabricated in factories and come in two types: solid and hollow. Solid prefabricated slabs have high overall strength and can withstand large loads, making them suitable for areas with high structural strength requirements, such as near load-bearing walls of buildings or parts that need to withstand large concentrated forces. Hollow prefabricated slabs, on the other hand, reduce their own weight and save materials while ensuring a certain level of strength. They are commonly used in areas with large spans and relatively small loads, such as the floor slabs of living rooms and bedrooms in ordinary residential buildings.

Construction Schematic of Prefabricated Concrete Reinforced Truss Floor Decks

This is a relatively advanced technology related to prefabricated slabs. It mainly consists of a reinforced truss part and a concrete non-removable bottom formwork part. The reinforced truss part provides the main load-bearing capacity for the entire floor deck. Its steel bars form a truss structure through specific welding or binding processes, effectively resisting bending moments and shear forces, ensuring the stability of the floor slab under load. The concrete non-removable bottom formwork part serves as a temporary support and protection for the reinforced truss. During the construction phase, it provides a stable support platform for the steel bars, facilitating the subsequent pouring of concrete. After the concrete reaches the designed strength, the bottom formwork does not need to be removed and can be used as part of the floor slab, improving construction efficiency and reducing construction procedures.

Construction Schematic of Floor Slab Systems

  • Two-way Slab Construction: In two-way slab construction, the floor slab bears bending moments in both directions. When arranging prefabricated slabs, the ratio of the long side to the short side is relatively close, resulting in small differences in stiffness between the two directions of the floor slab. This construction can more uniformly transfer loads to the surrounding supporting structures and is suitable for areas with large spans and relatively uniform load distribution, such as the floor slabs of large shopping malls and exhibition halls.
  • One-way Slab Construction: One-way slabs mainly bear bending moments in one direction, with relatively small and negligible bending moments in the other direction. When arranging prefabricated slabs, the ratio of the long side to the short side is large, and usually, the short side direction is the load-bearing direction. This construction is relatively simple in terms of construction and makes reasonable use of materials. It is commonly used in the floor slabs of ordinary residential buildings and office buildings.
