Eaves of Prefabricated Slab Buildings
The eaves of prefabricated slab buildings can be constructed using the prefabricated slab eaves technique, which utilizes concrete prefabricated slabs to complete the eaves construction, featuring high construction efficiency and stable structure.

Technical Principles and Core Steps
The prefabricated slab eaves technique achieves rapid eaves formation through standardized concrete prefabricated slabs, with the specific process divided into five steps:
- Parameter Design: Determine the eaves height (usually 30-60 cm) and length (generally not exceeding 1.2 m) based on architectural style and functional requirements to avoid structural deformation due to excessive span.
- Support Structure Installation: Pre-embed steel structures or concrete cantilever beams at the roof edge as support bases. Ensure their load-bearing capacity meets the weight of the prefabricated slabs and wind load requirements, and calibrate flatness using a level.
- Prefabricated Slab Hoisting: Select concrete prefabricated slabs that comply with national standards (common specifications: length 1.2-3 m, width 0.3-0.6 m) and precisely place them on the support structure using lifting equipment, leaving 5-10 mm gaps between slabs for deformation compensation.
- Connection and Sealing: Fix the prefabricated slabs to the support structure using welding or bolts. Fill gaps with high-elasticity sealant (e.g., silicone weather-resistant sealant) to prevent rainwater penetration; use waterproof mortar for joint sealing on the slab surface to enhance overall waterproofing performance.
- Surface Treatment: After the sealing layer dries, apply exterior wall paint (elastic waterproof paint is recommended). Select products with strong weather resistance based on local climate conditions, such as paint with low-temperature flexibility up to -20°C for cold regions.
Key Quality Control Points
- Material Selection: Prioritize concrete prefabricated slabs with a strength grade of C30 or higher, controlling aggregate particle size within 5-20 mm to reduce cracking risk; steel for support structures must comply with the GB/T 700-2006 standard.
- Construction Precision: Installation error of the support structure must be controlled within ±3 mm, and the verticality deviation of the prefabricated slabs must not exceed 2 mm/m to avoid stress concentration due to installation deviations.
- Environmental Adaptability: In rainy regions, design the eaves slope to be no less than 15° and incorporate a gutter system for accelerated drainage; use hot-dip galvanized steel support structures in coastal high-corrosion environments.
Maintenance Management Recommendations
Conduct a comprehensive inspection of the eaves every 2 years, focusing on sealant aging (promptly reapply if cracking or peeling occurs), rust at the connection points of the prefabricated slabs (remove rust and repaint steel support structures), and paint peeling (overall renovation required if the area exceeds 10%). Clear snow from the eaves before winter to prevent overload-induced structural damage.
