Prefabricated Panel House Design Solutions
Admin September 19, 2026
The following are several types of prefabricated panel house design solutions that can be considered based on actual needs and scenarios:

Combination Scheme of Prefabricated Panels and Cast-in-Place Bands
The core principle is to lock the scattered prefabricated panels into a whole using cast-in-place concrete bands, enhancing structural stability. Selection of prefabricated panels requires attention to three points:
- Type: Prioritize the use of "prestressed hollow panels" with round holes in the middle. These have strong load-bearing capacity and are lightweight, suitable for most residential scenarios.
- Grade: Ensure they are "national standard qualified products" to avoid safety hazards caused by using "non-standard panels".
- Appearance: Check for cracks or chipped corners on the panel body, and whether the concrete at both ends is dense. It is recommended to purchase from regular prefabricated panel factories and request the manufacturer to recommend suitable models. Construction of cast-in-place bands must strictly follow specifications:
- Position: Cast-in-place bands should be placed directly above load-bearing walls, covering all joints between prefabricated panels.
- Width: Typically 15-20 centimeters, ensuring that the concrete fully wraps the joints and enhances overall integrity.
Combination Scheme of Cast-in-Place in Core Areas and Prefabricated Panels in Secondary Areas
Suitable for scenarios where budget is limited but quality must be ensured. The specific approach is as follows:
- Use cast-in-place bands below load-bearing walls to ensure structural strength in key areas.
- For the central area of the floor (such as living rooms and staircases), use double-layer bidirectional reinforced cast-in-place slabs, while secondary areas (such as bedrooms) use prefabricated hollow panels.
- Joints between panels should be uniformly sealed with waterproof mortar to prevent leakage.
Placement Scheme for Prefabricated Panels in Rural Self-Built Houses
Focus on placement direction and space selection:
- Direction: The floor slab should be placed horizontally, as horizontal loading can withstand greater pressure and is more stable during foundation settlement.
- Space: Prioritize placing prefabricated panels in areas with smaller spans to avoid structural deformation caused by excessive spans.
Renovation Scheme for Old Prefabricated Panel Buildings
Implement in two steps:
- Assess the situation: Commission a professional team to conduct a comprehensive inspection of the house and develop a plan for issues such as wall cracks, steel bar corrosion, and foundation settlement. For example:
- Small cracks can be repaired with grout injection, while severe cases require steel plate reinforcement.
- Roof leakage requires re-laying the waterproof layer.
- Unstable foundations can be reinforced with piling.
- Functional upgrades: Add soundproof panels and double-glazed windows to improve sound insulation and enhance living comfort.
