Design Dimension Diagram of Prefabricated Panel Houses

Admin September 19, 2026

Currently, there are no ready-made design dimension diagrams for prefabricated panel houses available, but reference can be made based on the common dimensions of prefabricated panels for house design.

Prefabricated panels are important structural components in house design, and their dimensions have a crucial impact on the overall layout and structural stability of the house. The following provides a detailed introduction to the dimensions of prefabricated panels from four aspects: span, width, thickness, and length, offering ideas for house design.

Span: The maximum span of prefabricated panels for residential use is 4.2 meters, and they do not follow modular rules. This means that when designing a house, if the room's opening dimension is 4.2 meters or less, appropriate specifications of prefabricated panels can be directly selected for laying. If the room's opening exceeds 4.2 meters, special-span prefabricated panels need to be customized, which will increase costs and construction difficulty. Therefore, at the initial stage of house design, the room's opening should be kept within 4.2 meters as much as possible to improve the versatility and cost-effectiveness of the prefabricated panels.

Width: Prefabricated panels with widths of 500mm and 600mm are relatively common. When designing the house layout, the width of the prefabricated panels can be reasonably selected according to the room's function and space requirements. For example, for smaller storage rooms or bathrooms, 500mm-wide prefabricated panels may be more suitable; while for larger spaces such as living rooms and bedrooms, 600mm-wide prefabricated panels can reduce joint gaps and improve the overall integrity and aesthetics of the floor.

Thickness: Common thicknesses of prefabricated panels include 120mm and 150mm. The choice of thickness mainly depends on the load requirements and usage functions of the house. Generally, for ordinary residential floors with relatively small loads, 120mm-thick prefabricated panels can meet the requirements; however, if the house needs to bear heavy equipment or furniture, or has higher requirements for sound insulation and thermal insulation, 150mm-thick prefabricated panels can be selected.

Length: The length of prefabricated panels generally follows a 300mm module, such as 3000, 3300, 3600, 3900, 4200, etc., and there are also special lengths like 3800 and 4000. When designing the house's depth, efforts should be made to ensure that the length of the prefabricated panels conforms to modular requirements, which can reduce the cutting and waste of prefabricated panels and improve construction efficiency.
