Construction Process of Prefabricated Panel Houses
Admin September 18, 2026
The construction process of prefabricated panel houses mainly includes four core steps: the construction of prefabricated concrete panel foundations, the installation of prefabricated exterior wall cladding panels, the construction of prefabricated partition panels, and the installation of prefabricated composite panels. The specific process is as follows:

Construction of Prefabricated Concrete Panel Foundations
- Mold Making and Demolding Treatment: Use steel plates to make retaining molds. Spray mold release agents to prevent concrete adhesion and ensure a smooth surface of the components.
- Rebar Arrangement: Set up distribution rebars (ordinary rebars) and load-bearing rebars (steel strands). Fix the rebar strength through pre-tensioning or post-tensioning methods. Pre-tensioning requires stretching the steel strands to the designed strength in advance, while post-tensioning involves tensioning the rebars after the concrete has set to enhance the load-bearing capacity of the components.
- Concrete Pouring and Curing: After mixing the concrete, pour it automatically via tracks to reduce manual handling errors. Once the concrete has set to the designed strength, remove the molds to form prefabricated panel components.
Installation of Prefabricated Exterior Wall Cladding Panels
- Floor Preparation: Clean the floor and verify the elevation. If the error exceeds 5mm, grind and repair it to ensure a flat installation reference surface.
- Positioning and Leak Prevention Treatment: Mark out the positioning edge lines and control lines. Stick leak-proof grout strips to prevent concrete leakage during installation.
- Hoisting and Adjustment: Use a tower crane to lift the cladding panel to 50cm above the ground and pause for inspection. After confirming no abnormalities, continue lifting it to 50cm above the working layer. Construction personnel control the direction of descent. Install diagonal supports to adjust the internal and external positions and verticality. Remove the lifting equipment to complete the fixation.
Construction of Prefabricated Partition Panels
- Foundation Preparation: Complete the construction of the ground beam (marking lines → rebar planting → formwork erection → grouting → curing). Check whether the construction environment meets the requirements.
- Mold Making and Prefabricated Panel Production: Use galvanized square tubes to make frames and lay films to prevent adhesion. Place rebar meshes to enhance structural strength. Pour concrete and implant welded parts. After natural setting, remove the molds.
- Installation and Fixation: Weld the embedded parts of the prefabricated panels with those of the ground beam, walls, and ceiling to ensure stability. When plastering the surface layer or laying stone materials, precise drilling, grinding, and wet laying are required.
Installation of Prefabricated Composite Panels
- Lifting Equipment Selection: Use lifting steel beams to ensure that the lifting points bear force synchronously and avoid cracks or distortions due to uneven force.
- Hoisting and Positioning: Use a tower crane to slowly lift the composite panel to the designated position, ensuring the component is stable and reducing installation errors.
Key Precautions:
- Construction must strictly follow design specifications, especially rebar arrangement and connection node treatment, to avoid structural safety hazards.
- The hoisting process must control the speed to prevent component damage or personal injury.
- Compared with traditional processes, the prefabrication process can save labor (about 2.3 man-days per project) and materials (such as formwork and square tubes), but it requires additional consumption of mortar.
