How to Build a House with Prefabricated Panels
Admin September 18, 2026
There are two main methods for building houses with prefabricated panels: traditional on-site construction and modular construction. The following is the specific construction process:

Traditional On-site Construction Method
- Frame Construction
Craftsmen first use prefabricated panels to build the basic frame of the house, reserving the position of the main door and cutting it accurately. In some cases, the entire frame of the house is built with prefabricated panels, with the gaps between each panel filled with foam adhesive. Reservations are made on the sides for light windows and entryways. - Roof Construction
There are two common methods. One involves assembling the roof structure directly to form a circular tray, placing it at the center of the house, and connecting it to the walls with square timbers to form a complete roof structure. The roof has a conical shape. After securing each piece of material, wooden boards are installed. At the top closure, foam boards of the corresponding size are placed, foam is injected into the gaps, and then small wooden boards are used for sealing and fixing. The excess parts at the edges are cut and polished smoothly. The other method involves supporting a circular skylight tray in the middle, firmly fixing it with crossbeams around it, and covering the top with thick wooden boards to complete the roof construction. - Sealing Treatment
The interior and exterior walls of the house are filled and sealed with foam adhesive, and an oval frame is installed and fixed at the top as a roof skylight. - Waterproofing Treatment
A layer of waterproof foam is fixed on the exterior walls of the house, followed by an overall layer of waterproof tarpaulin, with particular attention to detailed treatment at the corners. The exterior walls are wrapped with a layer of waterproof foam, covered with a patterned waterproof tarpaulin, and fixed with nails at the edges. - Interior Filling
The spaces between the crossbeams inside the house are filled with foam boards, and then a layer of wooden boards is nailed on top. - Component Installation
Custom-made acrylic panels are installed, and excess foam adhesive is cleaned up. The waterproof tarpaulin on the top is laid in place. The gaps between the wooden boards on the interior and exterior walls of the house are filled and sealed tightly.
Modular Construction Method
Prefabricated panel houses are disassembled into independent modules, which are manufactured in a factory, including the ceiling, floor, water and electricity pipelines, etc. They are then transported to the site and assembled like building blocks, reducing the construction period by more than 60%. This method improves construction efficiency, reduces the complexity and uncertainty of on-site construction, and ensures the consistency and stability of building quality.
