Bearing Components of Prefabricated Panel Houses

Admin September 19, 2026

The bearing components of prefabricated panel houses mainly include beams, columns, walls, and connectors, which work together to ensure the structural safety and stability of the house.

Beams: In prefabricated panel houses, beams are one of the key load-bearing components. They are usually placed horizontally to support the prefabricated panels and transfer the loads from the upper structure to the columns or walls. Beams can be made of various materials, with reinforced concrete beams being common. Through the collaborative work of steel bars and concrete, reinforced concrete beams possess high flexural and shear resistance capabilities, effectively bearing the vertical loads transferred from the prefabricated panels.

Columns: Columns are vertical load-bearing components whose main function is to transfer the loads from the upper structure to the foundation. In prefabricated panel houses, columns are typically made of reinforced concrete, and their cross-sectional shapes and sizes are determined based on the magnitude of the loads they bear and the form of the house structure. The strength and stability of columns are crucial for the safety of the entire house structure, and they need to have sufficient load-bearing capacity to prevent damage or instability under load.

Walls: In prefabricated panel houses, walls not only serve to enclose and separate spaces but also bear certain load-bearing functions. Load-bearing walls directly bear the loads from the upper structure and transfer them to the foundation. Non-load-bearing walls mainly serve to separate spaces and do not bear or only bear small loads. Walls in prefabricated panel houses are usually made of materials such as brick masonry, blocks, or lightweight panels, and their thickness and strength are determined according to design requirements.

Connectors: Connectors are indispensable load-bearing components in prefabricated panel houses, used to connect components such as prefabricated panels, beams, columns, and walls into a whole. Common connectors include bolts, welded parts, and embedded parts. These connectors need to have sufficient strength and stiffness to ensure that under load, the various components can work together without relative displacement or damage. The design and construction quality of connectors have a significant impact on the stability and safety of the entire house structure.
