Design of Prefabricated Panel Factory Buildings
The design of prefabricated panel factory buildings requires comprehensive planning from multiple dimensions such as functional suitability, structural safety, and cost control. The following are specific design points:

I. Preliminary Research and Site Selection It is necessary to conduct a detailed survey of the existing layout of the factory area and clarify the locations of core areas such as production workshops and raw material storage areas. Taking a small prefabricated component factory as an example, its site selection should be away from the core vibration areas of the production workshops to reduce interference with residential and office activities from production operations. At the same time, it should be close to the factory entrance and exit to facilitate employee commuting and material transfer. In addition, it is necessary to sort out the personnel and production support needs, such as employee accommodation, office work, dining, and material storage, to provide a basis for the division of functional areas.
II. Functional Area Division
- Employee Living Area: Plan accommodation buildings, set up double-occupancy and single-occupancy dormitories as well as independent restrooms, and equip them with air conditioners, storage cabinets, and other facilities; set up an employee canteen equipped with dining tables and chairs, rice steamers, refrigerators, etc., to meet daily dining and gathering needs.
- Office Management Area: Set up independent offices and conference rooms equipped with office desks and chairs, file cabinets, and multimedia equipment. The production scheduling room should reserve ports for connection with the workshop monitoring system to achieve real-time monitoring of production progress.
- Production Support Area: Build a steel-structure transshipment warehouse, divide it into component storage areas, tool storage areas, and maintenance operation areas, and equip it with shelves, tool hooks, and maintenance equipment for storing samples, tools, and carrying out maintenance and upkeep.
- Public Support Area: Set up a public laundry room equipped with washing machines, dryers, and drying areas; set up a small clinic equipped with medical equipment and emergency medicines to meet employees' daily laundry needs and emergency treatment of sudden illnesses.
III. Building Structure Selection Adopt a hybrid mode of prefabricated components combined with brick-concrete structures. The main body of the accommodation building adopts a brick-concrete structure, with walls built using MU10 fired common bricks and M5 mixed mortar, and floor slabs using prefabricated prestressed hollow slabs produced in the factory area to reduce procurement costs and shorten the construction period; the transshipment warehouse adopts a steel structure, with the main frame consisting of H-shaped steel columns and beams and the roof using color steel sandwich panels to meet the needs of large-span storage. It should be noted that existing prefabricated panel houses have problems such as weak earthquake resistance and poor sound insulation and heat insulation. During the design process, measures such as structural reinforcement and the addition of sound insulation and heat insulation layers should be taken to improve performance.
