Prefabricated Houses in Baoji, Shaanxi

Admin September 18, 2026

In Baoji, Shaanxi, the situation regarding prefabricated houses is as follows:

I. Prefabricated Slab Floor Houses
There are cases of houses in Baoji, Shaanxi, that use prefabricated slab floors. For example, the No. 2 house of a company in Meixian County, Baoji City, is a three-story brick-concrete structure with prefabricated slabs for both the floor and roof. This structure involves prefabricating concrete slabs in a factory and assembling them on-site, offering high construction efficiency and relatively low costs. However, attention must be paid to waterproofing at the joints and the overall structural integrity. Currently, this technology is mostly applied to low- to medium-rise residential or industrial buildings and must comply with standards such as the "Code for Seismic Design of Buildings" to ensure structural safety.

II. Baoji Container Houses
Baoji container houses are formed by professionally modifying standard shipping containers to create habitable or usable building units. Their core features include:

  1. Convenience: Short construction periods (usually a few weeks to a few months), simple installation, and high mobility, making them suitable for temporary housing, emergency shelters, or tourism support facilities.
  2. Environmental Friendliness: Materials can be recycled, with minimal pollution during construction and less construction waste. They also easily integrate green technologies such as solar power and rainwater harvesting.
  3. Practicality: Container structures are robust and durable, with excellent wind and earthquake resistance. The interior space can be flexibly divided through modular design to meet diverse needs such as office, residential, or commercial use.
Currently, Baoji container houses have been applied in areas such as construction site dormitories, scenic area homestays, and commercial districts, becoming an important form of prefabricated construction.

III. Industrialized Residential PC Prefabricated Component Project
Baoji, Shaanxi, is advancing an industrialized residential PC (prefabricated concrete) component project. This is a newly built project with non-government investment, with a total investment of 200 million yuan. Currently in the filing stage, it is planned to start construction in 2023 and be completed in 2024. The project focuses on purchasing domestic equipment to produce components such as prefabricated wall panels, floor slabs, and stairs. Through factory production and on-site assembly, it aims to achieve standardization and industrialization in residential construction. Such projects help improve building quality, shorten construction periods, and reduce on-site wet work, aligning with the national "dual carbon" strategy and trends in building industrialization. In the future, as the project is implemented, the prefabricated housing industry in Baoji will further upgrade towards large-scale and intelligent development.
