Prefabricated House Wall Panels

Admin September 17, 2026

Prefabricated house wall panels are core components in prefabricated modular buildings, referring to building wall panels produced industrially and assembled on-site. They are mainly divided into two categories: prefabricated insulation wall panels and prefabricated concrete wall panels.

Prefabricated insulation wall panels adopt a "sandwich" structure, consisting of an inner load-bearing structural layer, an intermediate insulation layer (such as rock wool or polystyrene board), and an outer decorative surface, all formed in one piece. Their core advantages are reflected in three aspects:

  1. Outstanding energy efficiency: The intermediate insulation layer can effectively trap indoor heat, reducing the overall energy consumption of the building and meeting green building standards;
  2. High construction efficiency: The modular design supports rapid assembly, allowing construction even in rainy weather. The construction process is similar to "building with Lego blocks", significantly shortening the project duration;
  3. Low maintenance costs: The exterior decoration has the same lifespan as the building structure, eliminating the need for secondary renovation and reducing long-term maintenance expenses.

Prefabricated concrete wall panels are reinforced concrete panel components processed in prefabrication plants or on construction sites. The main types include PC wall panels (single-sided composite, double-sided composite, and fully prefabricated types) and industrialized finished wall panels. Their technical characteristics include:

  1. Mature technical system: Standardized production processes have been established in North America, Europe, and Japan, resulting in high-precision components with stable quality;
  2. Long application history: China introduced Soviet technology in the 1950s. Although it experienced a period of technological decline, it regained attention in the 21st century due to environmental protection needs (such as reducing on-site wet operations and dust emissions);
  3. Superior structural performance: Through reinforced design, they can meet the load-bearing requirements of different building structures and are suitable for high-rise buildings.

Common values and limitations of the two types of wall panels: Prefabricated wall panels reduce on-site construction errors through industrial production, and their modular design can increase the usable area of buildings (by reducing the space occupied by wall thickness). However, it should be noted that their design flexibility is limited, requiring strict matching of building dimensions and functional requirements in the early planning stages. Additionally, the technological resurgence of prefabricated concrete wall panels is closely related to China's environmental protection policies. In the future, with the popularization of modular buildings, their application scope is expected to further expand.
