Prefabricated House Thickness Standards

Admin September 17, 2026

The thickness standards for prefabricated components in prefabricated houses vary depending on the application scenario, material type, and load-bearing requirements. Here is a detailed classification:

I. Thickness of Prefabricated Panels Themselves The thickness of prefabricated panels needs to be determined based on load-bearing requirements and span. In common standards, prefabricated panels with a thickness of 120mm are mostly used in light-load scenarios, such as internal partition walls or decorative walls; prefabricated panels with a thickness of 150mm are used for structures that need to bear larger loads, such as floor slabs or exterior walls. The thickness range of ordinary cement prefabricated floor slabs is usually 60mm to 120mm, depending on the span. For example, for a 3-meter span, a thickness of 80mm-100mm is recommended. The thickness range of steel-frame lightweight prefabricated panels is 80mm-150mm, while the thickness range of steel bar truss prefabricated floor slabs can reach 100mm-300mm to meet the requirements of larger spans or loads.

II. Wall Thickness of Prefabricated Panel Houses Wall thickness needs to be selected according to the usage function. 75mm walls are mainly used for interior partitions to meet basic separation needs; 90mm walls are suitable for exterior wall insulation, balancing thermal insulation and structural stability; 100mm walls further enhance insulation performance and are suitable for the construction of lightweight houses; 120mm walls, due to their greater thickness, are often used in heavy industrial buildings to withstand higher loads.

III. Prefabricated Thickness in Special Scenarios For specific functional requirements, the thickness standards for prefabricated components are more refined. For example, the thickness of livestock manure leakage boards is usually 50mm-80mm, balancing load-bearing and water permeability; cable well cover plates have a fixed thickness of 50mm as they need to cover the well opening and withstand a certain pressure; prefabricated panels for underground garages may have a thickness of 300mm-400mm to meet the requirements of compression resistance and waterproofing, coping with the high loads and complex working conditions in underground environments.

IV. Thickness of Prefabricated Panels in Residential Buildings The thickness of prefabricated panels in residential buildings needs to be adjusted according to the building type. Prefabricated panels for low-rise or multi-story residential buildings generally have a thickness of 120mm-150mm, which can meet conventional living needs; prefabricated panels for duplexes or villas may have an increased thickness of 150mm-200mm due to larger spans or the presence of special loads (such as equipment floors, balconies, etc.) to ensure structural safety and durability.
