What is the Size of a Prefabricated House
Admin September 19, 2026
The sizes of prefabricated houses vary depending on design requirements and functional needs, with common size ranges as follows:

I. Common Sizes Classified by Number of Floors
- Single-story cement prefabricated houses The maximum width is typically 12 meters, with lengths ranging from 3 meters to customizable longer dimensions. Common standard sizes include:
- 6m × 3m, 8m × 3m, 10m × 3m, 12m × 3m These houses are mostly used for temporary housing, small shops, or storage scenarios, with lengths that can be flexibly adjusted according to needs.
- Two-story cement prefabricated houses The maximum width is also 12 meters, with common lengths of 5 meters, which can also be customized. Standard sizes include:
- 7.2m × 3.3m × 3.0m (length × width × height)
- 8.1m × 3.3m × 3.0m These houses are suitable for scenarios requiring multi-level functionality, such as rural self-built houses or community activity centers.
- Three-story cement prefabricated houses The maximum width is 12 meters, with common lengths of 7 meters, and customization is supported. These houses are mostly used for scenarios with high space requirements, such as commercial complexes or large residences.
II. Other Common Standard Sizes
- 3 meters × 6 meters: Suitable for small temporary housing, such as construction site offices or security booths.
- 4 meters × 8 meters: Commonly used for rural self-built houses, storage housing, or small shops, balancing practicality and economy.
- 5 meters × 10 meters: Suitable as family residences, community activity centers, or commercial housing, with more flexible spatial layouts.
III. Custom Size Ranges
- Width: Typically within the range of 3 meters to 4 meters, increasing in increments of 10 centimeters (e.g., 3.1 meters, 3.2 meters, etc.). Special requirements can exceed conventional limits, such as 7.2 meters or 7.6 meters, which need to be designed according to structural stability.
- Length: Can be flexibly adjusted according to site conditions, such as 6.6 meters (outer diameter), etc. Some projects support customization of longer dimensions, but transportation and installation limitations need to be considered.
IV. Sizes of Prefabricated Concrete Panels
- Length: Commonly 4.2 meters for residential use, with customization required for lengths exceeding this.
- Width: Primarily 500mm and 600mm, to fit different building modules.
- Thickness: Commonly 120mm and 150mm, with selection based on load requirements.
The selection of prefabricated house sizes should comprehensively consider functional requirements, site conditions, and transportation and installation capabilities. When customizing sizes, it is necessary to confirm structural safety and compliance with the supplier to ensure the feasibility of the final plan.
