Sales of Prefabricated Houses
The buying and selling of prefabricated houses are showing a dynamic trend globally, especially in China, with significant advantages.

Remarkable Production and Export Advantages
China's exports of prefabricated buildings have achieved remarkable results. In the first half of 2026, the total export value reached $2.79 billion, a year-on-year increase of 45%. Just the Shenzhen port alone exported movable houses worth 2.45 billion yuan. This is attributed to China's advanced production model, where building modules are manufactured in factories and then assembled at the destination like building with Lego blocks. For example, at the Intelligent Construction Industrial Park in Longgang, Shenzhen, a fully-equipped building module can be produced every 20 minutes, and once transported to the construction site, it can be installed within 30 minutes, significantly shortening the construction cycle and improving production efficiency.
Outstanding Price Advantages
Taking the US market as an example, an American couple ordered a 72-square-meter prefabricated cottage from China. Shipped from a factory in Hebei, China, across the ocean, and installed on-site, the total cost was less than $30,000. The cottage came complete with a bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom, and was ready for occupancy once connected to water and electricity. This high cost-effectiveness gives prefabricated houses strong competitiveness in the international market, meeting the housing needs of different consumers.
Sales Model Facing Transformation
China's real estate market is undergoing a new transformation. The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and other departments have jointly issued a notice to promote the ready-house sales system, which may also impact the sales of prefabricated houses. The ready-house sales system may encourage prefabricated house enterprises to focus more on product quality and delivery capabilities to meet market demand for ready-to-occupy houses.
System Capability Becomes a Core Competitiveness
When Chinese prefabricated houses are exported overseas, what is being sold is not just steel and wall panels, but a system capability that integrates design, manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering delivery, supported by China's most complete industrial system in the world. This system capability enables Chinese prefabricated house enterprises to provide one-stop solutions in the international market, offering comprehensive services from design to delivery, enhancing the status and influence of Chinese prefabricated houses in the global market.
