Rebar Symbols in Prefabricated Houses

Admin September 18, 2026

Rebar symbols in prefabricated houses mainly include grade symbols and graphical symbols, which are used to indicate the type, grade, specification, and spacing of rebars.

Grade Symbols: These are identifiers for the material and performance of rebars. Common types include HPB300 and HRB400. Among them, "HPB" stands for hot-rolled plain rebars, which have a smooth surface, relatively low strength, but good plasticity and weldability, often used as stirrups or distribution rebars in prefabricated components; "HRB" stands for hot-rolled ribbed rebars, which have crescent-shaped or spiral ribs on their surface, enhancing bond strength through mechanical interlocking with concrete, and are stronger, suitable for prefabricated beams, columns, and other components bearing heavy loads. The numbers in the grade symbols represent the standard yield strength values of the rebars, for example, the yield strength of HPB300 is 300MPa, and that of HRB400 is 400MPa. The larger the number, the higher the strength grade of the rebar.

Graphical Symbols: These are used to visually represent the grade or type of rebars. For example, the symbol of a circle with a vertical line represents Grade I steel (i.e., HPB300), which is simple in graphics and easy for quick identification; Grade II steel (HRB335) and Grade III steel (HRB400) may be distinguished through other graphics or labeling methods, depending on the drawing specifications.

Other Common Symbols: In architectural drawings, "@" represents the spacing between rebars. For example, "Φ10@150" indicates rebars with a diameter of 10mm and a spacing of 150mm; "Φ" alone represents the rebar model, such as "Φ8" indicating rebars with a diameter of 8mm. These symbols frequently appear in the drawings of prefabricated reinforced concrete components, specifying the layout, spacing, and specifications of rebars to ensure that construction complies with design requirements.

Rebar symbols in prefabricated houses are an important part of engineering language. Through the accurate use of standardized symbols, designers can clearly convey rebar information, and construction personnel can correctly understand and execute it, thereby ensuring the quality and structural safety of prefabricated components.
