Prefabricated House Rebar Connection

Admin September 18, 2026

Multiple methods can be used for rebar connection in prefabricated houses, mainly including rebar sleeve grouting connection, mechanical splicing, welding, and new connection methods, etc..

Rebar sleeve grouting connection: This is a commonly used method for rebar connection in prefabricated houses and can be divided into two types: full grouting and half grouting. Its principle is to firmly bond the rebars to be connected by injecting grouting material into the sleeve. This connection method has high strength and reliability, can meet the requirements of prefabricated house structures for rebar connection, and ensures the integrity and stability of the structure.

Mechanical splicing: Mechanical splicing is also a key technology for connecting rebars in construction and is also applied in the rebar connection of prefabricated houses. Common mechanical splicing methods include sleeve extrusion connection and straight-thread sleeve connection. Sleeve extrusion connection deforms the sleeve by using a special extrusion device to make it tightly bond with the rebar; straight-thread sleeve connection processes the end of the rebar into a straight thread and then screws it into a sleeve with an internal thread. These mechanical connection methods have advantages such as fast construction speed and stable connection quality.

Welding: Welding is another traditional rebar connection method, mainly including arc welding and electroslag pressure welding, etc. Arc welding uses the heat generated by an electric arc to melt the ends of the rebars and then adds filler metal to solidify and form a connection; electroslag pressure welding uses the resistance heat generated by an electric current passing through a slag pool to melt the ends of the rebars and then connects them through pressure. However, the welding method has high requirements for the construction environment and the technical skills of the operators, and may produce welding defects that affect the connection quality.

New connection methods: With the continuous development of construction technology, new connection methods such as taper-sleeve locking rebar joints have also emerged. These new connection methods usually have higher connection efficiency and better connection performance and can meet the needs of fast and efficient construction of prefabricated houses.
