Prefabricated House Purchase

Admin September 17, 2026

When purchasing a prefabricated house, it is necessary to select the type based on needs and comprehensively consider the differences between domestic and international markets as well as cost-effectiveness.

I. Types and Brand Selection of Prefabricated Houses

Prefabricated houses are mainly divided into two categories: concrete prefabricated houses and factory-prefabricated houses.

  • Concrete prefabricated houses: Brands include Yingchuang, Zhuoli, Xinweihongtu, etc. The assembly methods are primarily hoisting and assembling, with significant differences in snow-bearing and load-bearing capacities. Common specifications are 1000kg/m² and 100kg/m². These houses have a stable structure and are suitable for scenarios with high load-bearing requirements, but it is necessary to pay attention to the matching of load-bearing parameters with actual needs.
  • Factory-prefabricated houses: Brands include Wanlong, Xibang, Jieshitong, etc. The materials are mainly light steel and metal, with styles including assembled, modular, and modern minimalist designs. The construction processes involve traditional methods, assembly, and welding. The load-bearing capacities are divided into gradients such as 1000kg, 1200kg, 1500kg, and 1600kg, which can be flexibly selected according to usage (e.g., residential or storage). These houses offer a high degree of customization and are suitable for users with special design or functional requirements.

II. Differences Between Domestic and International Markets and Purchase Recommendations

  • Domestic Market: Prefabricated houses have low recognition in rural areas, with most farmers still preferring traditional self-built houses. The reasons include:

    • Similar Costs: Traditional self-built houses, through the use of self-owned land, self-procured materials, and hiring local construction teams, have a total cost that is not significantly different from that of prefabricated houses.
    • Psychological Preference: Farmers generally believe that traditional structures are more solid and have doubts about the durability and safety of prefabricated houses.
    • Recommendation: If rapid delivery or standardized design is pursued, factory-prefabricated houses can be优先考虑 (given priority); if personalization or a preference for traditional craftsmanship is emphasized, traditional self-built houses remain the mainstream choice.
  • International Market: The acceptance of prefabricated houses is high in European and American markets, mainly due to their significant price advantages. For example, the selling price of finished houses exported from China is only 200,000 yuan/set (including transportation and delivery), and the export growth rate reached 45% in the first quarter of this year, with the export value of Guangdong Customs increasing by 38.1% year-on-year in the first four months.

    • Recommendation: Users with overseas demand can pay attention to export channels but need to verify the building codes, transportation costs, and after-sales support of the target market.

III. Key Considerations

  • Matching Load-Bearing Capacity with Usage: Select snow-bearing or load-bearing parameters according to actual needs to avoid overloading.
  • Brand and Qualification Verification: Prioritize brands with industry certifications and good user reputations to ensure product quality and after-sales service.
  • Cost Comparison: Comprehensively calculate costs for materials, construction, transportation, etc., to avoid budget overruns due to hidden costs.
