Prefabricated House Panel
Prefabricated house panels are a crucial part of constructing buildings using prefabricated panels as the main components, possessing specific structures, uses, advantages and disadvantages, as well as development status.

Structure and Types: Prefabricated panels are cement components manufactured in factories. During production, a wooden model is first nailed together, and then steel bars are arranged and cement is poured to form the panel. There are two types: solid and hollow. The hollow structure achieves lightweighting by reducing the non-load-bearing concrete, maintaining structural strength while reducing self-weight for easier transportation and installation.
Architectural Uses: Prefabricated panels are widely used in the construction field, commonly employed in scenarios such as floor slabs and roof insulation layers. Floor slabs need to bear the upper loads, and prefabricated panels can meet the load-bearing requirements through reasonable design of steel bar layouts and cement strength. Roof insulation layers utilize their structural characteristics and, combined with insulation materials, effectively reduce heat transfer and enhance indoor comfort.
Advantages and Disadvantages: Prefabricated panel houses offer the advantages of shortened construction periods and reduced costs. Factory-prefabricated components enable standardized production, and fast on-site installation reduces labor and time costs. However, existing prefabricated panel houses generally have issues of weak earthquake resistance and poor sound and heat insulation. Due to the simple splicing connection method of prefabricated panels, the overall integrity is insufficient, making them prone to damage under earthquake action. The hollow structure or material performance limitations result in poor sound and heat insulation effects. Additionally, their service life is approximately 30 - 50 years, and their structural performance gradually declines due to material aging and environmental erosion.
Development Status: With the development of construction technology, cast-in-place concrete and prefabricated buildings are gradually replacing traditional prefabricated panel houses. Prefabricated buildings use modular factory-prefabricated components. For example, CMC combined modular buildings enhance earthquake resistance through steel-concrete integral pouring, and the construction period is 30% shorter than traditional methods. Since 2022, China has implemented renovation policies for old buildings, mainly focusing on repairing and renovating prefabricated panel houses and only demolishing those that meet the criteria for dangerous buildings. Measures such as structural reinforcement and improvement of sound and heat insulation performance are taken to extend their service life and enhance living safety.
