Prefabricated House National Standard Size Drawings

Admin September 18, 2026

Currently, there is no complete national standard document for 'Prefabricated House National Standard Size Drawings,' but some regions have issued relevant guidelines or atlases for reference. Specific designs need to be adjusted according to local standards and actual needs.

I. Reference to Local Standard Documents

  1. Guidelines for the Main Component Sizes of Prefabricated Concrete Structure Residences in Hubei Province
    Issued by the Hubei Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development in January 2023, these guidelines specify the preferred size ranges for typical functional spaces in residences (such as living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, etc.). For example, the recommended bedroom width is 3.0-3.6 meters, and the recommended kitchen countertop length is 2.4-3.0 meters. Additionally, specific regulations are provided for the thickness and span of prefabricated horizontal components (such as composite slabs and prefabricated air conditioning panels). For instance, the thickness of composite slabs should not be less than 60 millimeters, and the recommended width of prefabricated air conditioning panels is 1.2-1.5 meters. These guidelines provide a basic framework for prefabricated house design in Hubei Province but do not cover the entire country.

  2. Atlas of Standard Prefabricated Concrete Components for Prefabricated Residences in Sichuan Province
    The atlas issued by Sichuan Province includes documents such as 'Standard Base Plates for Pre-stressed Concrete Steel Pipe Truss Composite Slabs,' 'Standard Base Plates for Concrete Composite Slabs in Prefabricated Residences (I)(II),' and 'Standard Stair Treads for Prefabricated Concrete Stairs in Prefabricated Residences.' These documents provide detailed annotations of component template drawings, reinforcement drawings, and structural details. For example, the reinforcement spacing and steel bar diameters for composite slab base plates are clearly specified, and the step height, width, and handrail positions for stair treads are standardized through illustrations. These atlases serve as universal standards for engineering construction in Sichuan Province and are applicable to the standardized production of prefabricated houses in the region.

II. Supplementary Third-Party Design Resources
For specific drawings or customized designs, reference can be made to rural self-built house drawings provided by third-party design companies (such as a two-story villa design drawing measuring 12×11.6 meters). These drawings typically include architectural floor plans, elevations, sections, and structural details. However, it should be noted that:

  • Non-National Standards: Third-party drawings are often based on local regulations or empirical designs and may not fully comply with national standards;
  • Adjustment and Adaptation: Before actual use, modifications should be made based on the climate, geological conditions, and local standards (such as seismic fortification intensity and wind load) of the project location to ensure structural safety and compliance.

III. Design Recommendations

  1. Prioritize Local Standards: Select guidelines or atlases corresponding to the project location to ensure designs comply with local regulations;
  2. Clarify Functional Requirements: Determine room sizes, door and window positions, etc., based on the usage scenario (such as residence or office);
  3. Consult Professional Institutions: For customized designs, it is recommended to entrust design units with prefabricated building qualifications to avoid construction risks caused by parameter errors.
