How to Install Prefabricated House Modules

Admin September 18, 2026

The installation methods for prefabricated house modules vary depending on the type. Common types include cement prefabricated molds, assembled container houses, and cement prefabricated houses. Here are the specific installation steps:

Installation of Cement Prefabricated Molds

  1. Pre-installation Preparation

    • Site Selection: Choose a hardened ground that is flat, solid, and well-drained (such as a concrete foundation). The bearing capacity should be at least 1.5 times the full load weight of the mold (common mold self-weights range from 2-8 tons, reaching 10-20 tons with concrete). Reserve a 1-meter passage around the site.
    • Tools and Equipment: Prepare a level, theodolite, torque wrench, crane (or forklift), special connecting bolts (such as M16-M20 grade 8.8 high-strength bolts), mold release agent, rubber mallet, etc.
    • Component Inspection: Count the bottom frame, side panels, top panels, and other components according to the drawings. Check for deformation, weld cracks, or bolt hole misalignment.
  2. Installation Steps

    • Bottom Frame Positioning: Use a crane to lift the frame to the designated position. Adjust the height difference of the four corners to ≤2mm and the diagonal error to ≤3mm using a level. Use steel shims or leveling bolts for fine adjustments on uneven surfaces.
    • Side Panel and Corner Piece Installation: Start installing side panels from one corner, connecting them with corner pieces and bolts. The bolt preload should reach the torque value (e.g., 200-250N·m for M16 bolts). Check the verticality of each installed side panel with a theodolite (allowable deviation ±1.5mm/m).
    • Top Panel and Support System Installation: Apply a sealing strip (such as rubber or foam) at the top of the side panels to prevent concrete leakage. After the top panel is in place, install support rods (spacing 500-800mm) to ensure the mid-span deflection is ≤1mm/m.
    • Accuracy Verification and Fastening: Verify the internal dimensions with a laser distance meter (allowable deviation ±3mm). Finally, tighten all bolts and check for loose connections.
  3. Key Precautions

    • Before pouring concrete, verify the stability of the mold and set up temporary supports at the four corners. Use the specified grade of bolts and tighten them to the standard torque to avoid breakage or deformation.
    • Apply a mold release agent (such as oil emulsion, dosage 0.1-0.2kg/m²) evenly on the inner surface before installation.
    • Outdoor installation is prohibited in strong winds (wind speed ≥6) or rainy weather. Fire prevention measures are required for welding operations.

Installation of Assembled Container Houses

  1. Site Preparation: Choose a flat, solid, and well-drained foundation and clear debris.
  2. Transportation and Unloading: Use professional equipment to unload and classify container modules made of steel frames and insulation materials.
  3. Foundation Installation: Fix the base according to the design drawings to ensure structural stability.
  4. Module Assembly: Arrange the modules in order and secure them with preset locks or bolts.
  5. Door and Window Installation: Install pre-set doors and windows at designated positions to ensure airtightness and safety.
  6. Interior Decoration: Lay water and electricity pipelines, decorate walls, floors, and ceilings, and add furniture and living facilities.
  7. Final Inspection: Confirm that all components are firmly installed and meet safety standards before acceptance and occupancy.

Installation of Cement Prefabricated Houses

  1. Preparation Phase: Check the dimensions, specifications, and strength of prefabricated components to ensure they meet design requirements. Verify the positions of reserved sleeves and reinforcing bars. Prepare cement mortar and lifting equipment.
  2. Foundation Treatment: Pour a concrete foundation or strip foundation. Adjust the dimensions and elevation according to the drawings to ensure accuracy.
  3. Component Lifting and Connection: Lift columns, beams, slabs, and other components in order. Use bolts or sleeve grouting to enhance firmness. Fill wall gaps with sealing materials to prevent leakage.
