Foundation of Prefabricated Houses
There are mainly two types of foundations for prefabricated houses: prefabricated foundations and pile foundations.

Prefabricated Foundations
Prefabricated foundations are a common form of foundation for prefabricated houses, with a design concept similar to Lego bricks. In a factory setting, concrete is pre-made into standardized components. After being transported to the construction site, these components can be quickly assembled, significantly shortening the construction period. A prefabricated foundation mainly consists of three parts:
- Base Plate: As the bottom layer of the prefabricated foundation, the base plate is responsible for distributing the load from the superstructure. It ensures that the load is evenly transferred to the foundation, preventing local stress concentration that could lead to foundation damage.
- Columns: Columns are the vertical support structures of the prefabricated foundation, containing steel reinforcement cages inside. The presence of steel reinforcement cages significantly enhances the load-bearing capacity and deformation resistance of the columns, making the entire prefabricated foundation structure more stable and reliable.
- Assembly Method: The various components of the prefabricated foundation are precisely processed in the factory to ensure accuracy in dimensions and shapes. At the construction site, these components are assembled together using specific connection methods to form a complete prefabricated foundation.
Pile Foundations
For large-scale industrial and civil prefabricated houses, when the weak soil layer of the foundation is relatively thick, shallow foundations may not meet the requirements for foundation strength and deformation. In such cases, pile foundations become a more suitable choice. The main function of pile foundations is to transfer the load from the superstructure to deeper, harder soil layers through the pile shaft or to the foundation through the frictional force around the pile. Depending on the construction method, pile foundations can be classified into:
- Reinforced Concrete Prefabricated Piles: These piles are prefabricated in the factory and have high strength and durability. At the construction site, they are driven into the foundation using pile drivers to form a stable support structure.
- Cast-in-place Piles: Cast-in-place piles are formed by drilling or excavating holes at the construction site and then pouring concrete into the holes. This type of pile offers high construction flexibility, allowing adjustments to pile length and diameter based on foundation conditions.
