Prefabricated House Finished Size Standards

Admin September 18, 2026

The finished size standards for prefabricated houses are mainly divided into two categories: prefabricated cement houses and prefabricated floor slabs, as detailed below:

Prefabricated Cement House Size Standards

Prefabricated cement houses are designed with modularity at their core, facilitating easy transportation and installation. Common standard sizes are categorized into three types:

  1. 3m × 6m: Suitable for small temporary structures such as construction site offices and duty rooms, meeting short-term, small-space requirements.
  2. 4m × 8m: Medium-sized, often used for rural self-built houses, storage facilities, or small shops, balancing residential and storage functions.
  3. 5m × 10m: Larger spaces, ideal for family homes, community centers, or commercial buildings, offering more flexible functional zoning.

Custom Sizes:

  • Width: Typically ranges from 3m to 4m, increasing in increments of 10cm (e.g., 3.1m, 3.2m); special requirements can extend up to 7.2m or 7.6m, suitable for large storage or industrial buildings.
  • Length: Adjusted flexibly according to site conditions, such as 6.6m (outer diameter), with some projects supporting longer custom lengths.
  • Other Parameters: Height and number of floors can be customized, such as single-story or double-story structures, to meet different building height requirements.

Prefabricated Floor Slab Size Standards

According to the national standard GB/T 16727-2007 "Prefabricated Concrete Floor Slabs" and industry norms, the core dimensions are as follows:

  1. Thickness: Common specifications include 60mm, 80mm, 100mm, 120mm, and 150mm. Residential buildings typically use 80-100mm, while industrial buildings, with higher load-bearing requirements, often use 120-150mm.
  2. Width: Designed with standard modular dimensions, primarily 600mm, 900mm, and 1200mm; some custom specifications can reach 2400mm to accommodate large spans.
  3. Length: Conventional spans range from 2.4m to 6m (residential), with large-span factory buildings reaching 9m to 12m (requiring reinforced reinforcement for structural stability).

Technical Characteristics:

  • Load-Bearing Classification: Divided into three grades: 1.5kN/m² (light-duty), 2.0kN/m² (standard), and 3.0kN/m² (heavy-duty), to be selected based on building use.
  • Material: Predominantly prestressed concrete, offering both strength and durability; steel-framed foam concrete, characterized by its lightweight and high strength, is suitable for weight-sensitive scenarios.
  • Supporting Processes: 20-30mm joints are reserved at the slab ends for grouting, ensuring tight structural connections; grooves are set on the slab sides to enhance integrity and prevent cracking or displacement.
