Prefabricated House Finished Product for 200,000 Yuan

Admin September 19, 2026

The finished prefabricated houses priced at 200,000 yuan are mostly basic export models in China, while fully furnished options are available overseas, offering high cost-effectiveness and easy installation.

Domestic Market Situation

The factory price of basic prefabricated houses in China is around 200,000 yuan, but they have not become widespread. On one hand, the cost of self-built houses in rural China often ranges from tens of thousands to 200,000 yuan, with a small price gap compared to prefabricated houses, and traditional construction methods are more trusted. On the other hand, some prefabricated houses are seen as upgraded versions of temporary sheds, with structural stability and waterproofing performance inferior to self-built houses made of bricks and tiles, resulting in limited market acceptance.

Overseas Market Situation

European and American Markets: For 200,000 yuan, one can purchase a fully furnished prefabricated house of about 70 square meters, including a bedroom, kitchen, and independent bathroom, with the total landed cost including freight and customs duties. For example, an American couple purchased a container house through Alibaba.com, with the house body priced at 15,800 US dollars, and the total cost after adding other fees was about 28,689 US dollars (equivalent to less than 200,000 yuan).

Export Data: China's export volume of prefabricated buildings increased from 1.472 billion US dollars in 2015 to 4.339 billion US dollars in 2025, with a growth rate of 45% in the first quarter of 2026. Products are sold to more than 150 countries worldwide, indicating strong demand for prefabricated houses in overseas markets.

Product Features

Structure and Materials: Light steel structures (such as hot-rolled section steel and hot-dip galvanized steel structures) or expandable container designs are used, with walls possibly made of metal carved panels, foam insulation layers, etc., balancing strength and insulation performance.
Installation Efficiency: Over 90% of the processes are completed in the factory, and on-site assembly takes only a few days. For example, a 70-square-meter house can be basically assembled by 3 people in one day, significantly shortening the construction period.
Additional Features: Some products include porches, balconies, split air conditioning units, etc., with pre-installed plumbing and decoration, enabling "move-in ready" living.

Reasons for Price Advantage

Labor Cost Differences: Traditional house construction in Europe and America is expensive in terms of labor (e.g., daily wages for construction workers in the United States range from 200 to 500 US dollars), while the cost of prefabricated houses in China is only 40% of that of local construction, creating a significant price advantage.
Scaled Production: Modular design and assembly line operations reduce manufacturing costs, further enhancing cost-effectiveness.
