Prefabricated House Experience

Admin September 18, 2026

The experience of using prefabricated houses varies significantly depending on the type, with old prefabricated panel houses offering a poor experience and modern prefabricated houses providing a significantly improved and advantageous experience.

Old prefabricated panel houses, mostly historical products, offer a poor user experience. They have weak structural safety and earthquake resistance, with numerous joints leading to poor waterproofing and sound insulation. The floors are prone to cracking due to foundation settlement. With a relatively short design lifespan, typically 30-50 years, cracks spread as they age, resulting in a generally poor living experience.

Modern prefabricated houses (such as prefabricated buildings and mobile homes), on the other hand, demonstrate significant advantages:

  • High construction efficiency: The main construction period is significantly shortened. For example, a 200-square-meter house can be erected in 4 hours, with the fastest prefabricated houses in rural Henan being built in 2 hours and completed with hoisting in 4 hours, significantly saving time costs.
  • Outstanding cost-effectiveness: Factory production reduces overall costs. The total price of a 200-square-meter house may be controlled within 200,000 yuan, with a construction cost as low as over 300 yuan per square meter, offering obvious economic advantages.
  • Controllable quality: Standardized production reduces human errors. The all-reinforced concrete structure is sturdy and durable, with a warranty period of up to 70 years, offering better quality stability than traditional buildings.
  • Superior performance: The use of new insulation materials generally results in better thermal insulation performance than traditional brick-concrete structures, aligning with green building concepts and offering better environmental protection.
  • Flexible design: The layout of the house can be customized according to needs, with careful design of room sizes, structures, and even details to meet personalized requirements.

However, some users have raised doubts about the wall panel thickness (around 12 centimeters) of modern prefabricated houses, believing it may affect thermal insulation or sound insulation. Overall, modern prefabricated houses are widely welcomed in rural self-built houses, tourist homestays, and other fields due to their efficiency, environmental protection, and economic advantages, but it is important to choose reputable manufacturers to ensure quality.
