Prefabricated House Assembly Methods

Admin September 18, 2026

The assembly methods for prefabricated houses mainly include panel assembly, box assembly, modular construction, and the connection of prefabricated floor slabs and beams, among others. The specific assembly methods are as follows:

Panel-assembled buildings use prefabricated wall panels and floor slabs as core components. During assembly, foundation construction is carried out first to ensure the foundation is level and meets design requirements. Subsequently, the prefabricated wall panels are hoisted according to the design drawings and firmly connected to the foundation and adjacent wall panels using specific connectors such as bolts and welding. During installation, the verticality and flatness of the wall panels must be ensured, and tools such as spirit levels can be used for detection and adjustment. Next, the prefabricated floor slabs are installed. The floor slabs are typically placed on the wall panels or beams and reliably connected to the surrounding components through reserved steel bars or connectors to enhance the overall structural stability. This assembly method can expand the usable area of the house, but due to the standardized production of components, it may be limited in design flexibility.

Box-assembled buildings are combined through prefabricated functional units. These functional units can be independent rooms such as bedrooms, living rooms, and kitchens, each containing walls, doors, windows, and interior decoration. During assembly, the positions of each functional unit are first determined, and then large-scale transportation and hoisting equipment is used to lift the units one by one to the designated positions. During hoisting, the stability and safety of the units must be ensured to avoid collisions and damage. After the units are in place, they are connected to adjacent units using connectors to form a complete house structure. This assembly method can significantly improve construction speed, increasing it by 50%-70% compared to traditional construction methods, but it has high requirements for transportation and hoisting equipment, which must have sufficient load-bearing capacity and precise operational capabilities.

Modular construction is a type of prefabricated house, and although the specific assembly method is not detailed, it generally involves assembling prefabricated modules on-site. These modules can be different parts of the building, such as structural modules and equipment modules, which are combined and connected reasonably to form a complete building system.

In prefabricated steel-concrete frame structures, the connection between prefabricated floor slabs and beams is a critical link. The prefabricated floor slabs are typically placed on the beams. To ensure a firm connection, steel bars need to be reserved on the beams or connectors installed. During floor slab installation, the floor slabs are accurately placed on the beams, allowing the reserved steel bars to interpenetrate. Then, the steel bars are firmly connected through welding or binding, and if necessary, concrete can be poured again to enhance the connection strength and integrity.
