Insulation of Prefabricated Finished Houses

Admin September 18, 2026

Insulation of prefabricated finished houses can be achieved through methods such as wall, roof, and door/window insulation, optimizing house layout, and using prefabricated insulation wall panels.

Wall Insulation

There are multiple approaches. First, insulation materials can be used to fill the walls, such as polystyrene foam boards and rock wool boards, which have low thermal conductivity and can effectively prevent heat transfer. Second, a double-wall structure can be adopted, creating an air layer in the middle to enhance insulation by utilizing air as a poor conductor of heat. Third, thermal insulation felts or coatings can be added to the inner side of the walls to further improve insulation capacity. Additionally, in the factory prefabrication of insulated prefabricated concrete houses, insulation materials are embedded into the concrete components, such as using polystyrene foam or rock wool to form an insulation layer.

Roof Insulation

There are also various ways. Laying thermal insulation materials on the roof, such as thermal insulation membranes and thermal insulation bricks, can block solar radiation heat from entering the interior. Setting up a ventilation layer to allow hot air to flow through and carry away heat is also an effective insulation method. Green roofs can also be adopted, where plants are grown to reduce the roof temperature through transpiration and shading effects.

Door and Window Insulation

Choosing doors and windows with good thermal insulation performance is crucial. For example, broken-bridge aluminum alloy doors and windows paired with insulated glass can be used. The broken-bridge aluminum alloy can block the heat conduction path, and the air layer in the middle of the insulated glass can reduce the heat transfer coefficient. At the same time, it is essential to ensure good sealing of doors and windows to prevent heat loss through gaps.

House Layout

A reasonable house layout contributes to thermal insulation. For instance, rooms with high insulation requirements, such as bedrooms, can be placed on the shady side to reduce direct sunlight exposure, thereby slowing down the rise in indoor temperature, reducing the use of air conditioners and other cooling equipment, and achieving energy-saving insulation effects.

Prefabricated Insulation Wall Panels

Prefabricated insulation wall panels are "sandwich walls" made in advance in the factory, with an insulation layer sandwiched in the middle, such as rock wool or polystyrene boards, and a decorative surface directly on the outside, requiring no further decoration after one-time forming. These wall panels can significantly reduce energy consumption, have extremely fast construction speeds, and the exterior wall tiles and coatings are completed at the factory, with a lifespan matching that of the building, making them an efficient and convenient insulation method.
