Installation of Prefabricated Decorative Lines for Buildings
Admin September 18, 2026
The installation of prefabricated decorative lines for buildings is a process closely related to prefabricated decoration, with the core being the synchronous positioning and fixation of prefabricated decorative lines with the base layer, ultimately forming a single piece with the overall decorative surface.

Process Characteristics
- Efficient Construction, Shortened Cycle: Prefabricated decorative lines are produced in a standardized manner in factories, achieving millimeter-level precision. On-site installation eliminates the need for formwork erection, pouring, curing, and other steps, significantly improving construction efficiency. For example, in traditional cast-in-place processes, the curing step alone can take several days, whereas prefabricated component installation can skip this step and proceed directly to the next process.
- Controllable Quality, Stable Precision: Factory production relies on advanced molds and automated equipment to strictly control the dimensions, shapes, and surface textures of the lines, avoiding issues such as dimensional deviations and surface defects caused by manual operations or environmental factors during on-site construction. For example, in traditional wet construction, the proportioning and application thickness of cement mortar depend on workers' experience, which is prone to errors; whereas prefabricated component production can achieve standardized control, ensuring consistent precision for each product.
- Green and Environmentally Friendly, Reduced Pollution: Dry installation is used, eliminating the need for large quantities of wet construction materials such as cement and mortar, and reducing dust, noise, and construction waste emissions at the construction site. For example, in traditional wet construction, processes such as cement mixing and cutting generate significant amounts of dust, whereas prefabricated component installation only requires a small amount of adhesive or mechanical fixation, significantly reducing pollution.
- Rich Shapes, Strong Adaptability: Through customized mold design, a variety of complex shapes can be achieved to meet the needs of different architectural styles. At the same time, a diverse range of materials is available, allowing for flexible selection based on functional requirements, structural characteristics, and cost budgets. For example, GRC (Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete) lines are suitable for imitating stone effects, EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) lines are suitable for lightweight decoration, and metal lines are suitable for modern styles.
Scope of Application
- Home Decoration: Such as ceiling corner lines, TV background wall frames, sofa background wall decorative dividers, door and window frames, and stair waist lines in duplex buildings.
- Public Decoration: Such as ceiling trim for hotel lobbies, exhibition hall shape dividers, office building wall waist lines, and mall curtain wall closures, especially suitable for projects with high decorative precision requirements and complex shapes.
- Special Scenarios: For irregular curved decorative lines, prefabrication followed by synchronous installation yields better results than post-installation.
Construction Key Points
- Preliminary Preparation: On-site dimensional resizing is required to ensure that the dimensions of the prefabricated components match the actual situation; the construction blueprints should be further refined to clarify the interface between the prefabricated wall panels and the masonry, and materials should be unified to reduce cutting waste.
- Installation Process: Position and fix the prefabricated decorative lines synchronously during the construction of the base structure; pay attention to detail handling, such as ensuring that the upper and lower edges of the wall panels align with the installation lines, reserving a 30-60mm gap at the lower end of the panels, adjusting the position with wooden wedges, and splicing the tenon and mortise joints.
- Post-Installation Treatment: The gaps between the panels should be filled with adhesive material, smoothed, and hooked solid; fiberglass cloth should be pasted inside the joint grooves, and the exterior should be leveled with mortar and pasted with anti-crack mesh; after installation, the wall surface should be cleaned and appropriately wrapped or fenced for protection.
