Prefabricated Concrete Houses in Yunnan

Admin September 18, 2026

In Yunnan, prefabricated concrete houses primarily follow the model of prefabricated cement houses, constructed using a 'factory prefabrication + on-site assembly' approach, offering significant technical advantages and application value.

I. Technical Core and Structural Features Prefabricated cement houses are centered around reinforced concrete modules, utilizing C35 concrete and Φ8-Φ14 threaded steel bars. These modules are cast in one piece using molds, forming an integrated load-bearing system consisting of 'L-shaped columns + rectangular beams + floor slabs'. Each module weighs between 23 and 28 tons, with a wall thickness of 150mm and a floor slab thickness of 100mm, achieving a compressive strength of 30MPa, which is 1.5 times that of traditional brick-and-mortar structures. Modular integrated design is another key technology, with each module embedding water and electricity pipelines, insulation layers (EPS board thickness of 50-100mm), and undergoing waterproof testing before leaving the factory. After on-site hoisting, it takes only 3 days to connect water and electricity, significantly shortening the construction period. Modules are connected using prestressed bolts and welded steel plates for flexible connections, with a single-point tensile strength of 20 tons, forming an overall framework capable of withstanding wind speeds of up to 12 levels and seismic intensities of 7-9 degrees (adjusted according to the number of floors), ensuring structural stability.

II. Core Advantages and Performance Verification

  1. Structural Safety: Full concrete casting eliminates the 'weak links' of masonry structures. During the 6.2-magnitude earthquake in Zhaotong, Yunnan, in 2023, the main structure of a cement house homestay remained intact, with only a 0.1mm fine crack appearing on the wall, while surrounding brick-and-mortar houses generally exhibited 1-3mm cracks, verifying its seismic performance.
  2. Fire and Water Resistance: The concrete has a fire resistance limit of 3 hours, superior to the 2 hours of brick-and-mortar structures; the seamless casting process achieves a waterproof rating of Grade II for roofs and walls, capable of withstanding 12 hours of continuous heavy rain. In the Qiandongnan region of Guizhou, the measured leakage rate is 0.3%, far lower than the 5% of traditional buildings.
  3. Seismic and Wind Resistance: A single-story module can withstand earthquakes of magnitudes 9-10, while 2-3 story modules can withstand magnitudes 7-8; under a Category 12 typhoon (wind speed of 37m/s), the displacement between modules is only 0.5cm. In an actual measurement case in Zhanjiang, Guangdong, the cement house homestay showed no damage to its exterior walls after Typhoon Haiyan.

III. Application Scenarios and Industrial Support In the construction industry of Yunnan, prefabricated concrete houses are not only suitable for residential use but are also widely used in large-scale projects such as factories, warehouses, and stadiums with large spans. For example, 24-meter double-T slabs are common prefabricated concrete components, with strict requirements for production processes and raw materials, necessitating the selection of manufacturers with mature production lines and comprehensive quality inspection systems. Companies such as Yunnan Kunning Building Components Co., Ltd. engage in the production, construction, and sales of ordinary and prestressed concrete prefabricated components, providing technical support for the industry.
