Prefabricated Concrete Floor for Houses

Admin September 18, 2026

Key points about prefabricated concrete floors for houses are as follows:

Painting Time:

  • Newly laid prefabricated concrete floors: Wait for about 20 days until the floor is completely dry and cured before painting. After drying, treat the surface with chemicals such as oxalic acid to remove residues and stains, ensuring good paint adhesion.
  • Old prefabricated concrete floor products (such as laid concrete slabs): If the floor already exists and is free of oil, dust, and other impurities, painting can be carried out directly without waiting for a drying period.

Maintenance Methods:

  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Keep the floor clean to prevent stains from penetrating, which can reduce aesthetics or cause cracks. Promptly wipe away stains using a clean, damp mop. Do not use acidic or alkaline cleaners to prevent surface corrosion.
  • Ventilation and Moisture Prevention: Frequently ventilate to reduce water vapor concentration and prevent floor damage from moisture. A humid environment can cause changes in the internal structure of the concrete, leading to reduced strength or cracking.
  • Impact Protection: Avoid heavy impacts on the floor, especially in areas that are not fully cured, to prevent surface depressions or internal structural damage.

Construction Process:

  1. Pre-construction Preparation: Thoroughly clean the work area to ensure it is free of debris and dust; prepare tools and materials such as cement, sand, gravel, steel bars, and trowels.
  2. Foundation Treatment: Level the ground, eliminate standing water, fill and compact cracks, and sweep away debris to provide a stable foundation for subsequent construction.
  3. Formwork Fabrication and Installation: Fabricate wooden formwork according to the design and lay it in the target area as a reference for floor height and levelness.
  4. Steel Bar Placement: Lay a steel bar mesh on the formwork (especially in load-bearing areas such as garages and factories) to enhance the floor's compressive and flexural strength.
  5. Concrete Pouring: Mix cement, sand, and gravel in proportion, add water, and pour into the formwork, ensuring dense filling without voids.
  6. Smoothing and Troweling: First, roughly smooth the surface with a shovel, then finely smooth with a wooden float. After the concrete has slightly set, use a trowel to achieve a smooth and level floor.
  7. Curing: Adopt regular wet curing (periodic watering) or covered curing (such as with plastic film) to prevent cracks caused by rapid moisture evaporation from the floor.
  8. Cleaning: After construction, clean the site, including floor debris and dust, to maintain a tidy environment.
