Prefabricated Cement House Wall Surface

Admin September 18, 2026

Prefabricated cement house wall surfaces mainly include two types: cement prefabricated panel walls and new-type building prefabricated cement walls. Currently, cement prefabricated panel walls have been prohibited from being used in the main structure of buildings due to their defects, while new-type prefabricated cement walls are still in use.

Cement Prefabricated Panel Walls
Cement prefabricated panel walls are made primarily of Portland cement and steel reinforcement frames, pre-fabricated into panel structures using molds. These walls come in two types: solid and hollow. Hollow prefabricated panels reduce weight and cost through their internal hollow design, offering the advantages of simple construction and lower costs. In terms of standard specifications, the maximum span can reach 4.2 meters, with widths commonly being 500mm or 600mm, and thicknesses primarily at 120mm and 150mm.
However, cement prefabricated panel walls have significant drawbacks:

  1. Poor thermal insulation: The high thermal conductivity of the material makes it difficult to meet modern building energy efficiency requirements;
  2. Insufficient structural stability: The limited bonding strength between the steel reinforcement frames and the cement matrix makes them prone to deformation over long-term use;
  3. Weak load-bearing capacity: The hollow structure reduces bending and shear resistance, making them unable to withstand heavy loads;
  4. Joint gap issues: Panel connections rely on mortar or sealing materials, which are prone to cracking and leakage due to temperature changes or foundation settlement.
    Based on the above issues, cement prefabricated panel walls have been banned from being used in the main structure of buildings in China's construction sector, with cast-in-place concrete slabs becoming the mainstream alternative. However, as industrialized building components, prefabricated concrete wall panels are still used in non-load-bearing parts (such as partition walls) of some prefabricated buildings.

New-Type Building Prefabricated Cement Walls
New-type prefabricated cement walls have addressed the shortcomings of traditional products through material optimization and process improvements:

  1. Customized design: Some products support customization of dimensions, shapes (such as panels, rectangles), and appearances (such as modern smooth finishes, solid blocks);
  2. Enhanced performance: Compressive strength specifications vary (such as 7MPa, 8MPa, 21MPa), meeting different scenario requirements;
  3. Expanded application scenarios: In addition to indoor walls, they can also be used in outdoor, courtyard, and river environments, demonstrating strong adaptability.
    Furthermore, there are various brands of cement prefabricated wall products on the market, with compressive strengths ranging from 4.0MPa to 10MPa and appearances including solid blocks and aesthetically pleasing square shapes, further enriching the range of options.

Summary: Traditional cement prefabricated panel walls have exited the main building market due to performance defects, but new-type prefabricated cement walls, through technological upgrades, still hold application value in non-load-bearing areas and specific projects. When selecting, it is essential to consider specific needs, focusing on compressive strength, usage location, and appearance compatibility.
