Prefabricated Assembly-Type High-Rise Buildings
Prefabricated assembly-type high-rise buildings are an application form of prefabricated buildings, referring to a construction method where building components are industrially produced and assembled on-site.

In terms of construction speed: Prefabricated assembly-type high-rise buildings have significant advantages, especially for modular buildings with a higher degree of integration. On average, one floor can be assembled in two days. Taking a 16-story building as an example, it is assembled from 298 modules. From the first hoisting, the modular part can be ready for delivery in just 120 days, which is 60% shorter than the traditional construction period. The Anju Jingxinyuan project took only 148 days from the hoisting of the first module to the completion of the 30-story, nearly 100-meter-high building with fine decoration, fully demonstrating its rapid construction characteristics, which can greatly shorten the construction cycle and improve construction efficiency.
In terms of construction methods: In some smart factories in China, processes such as wall, floor, plumbing, and decoration are all completed in the workshop, and then the prefabricated components are transported to the site for assembly. It takes only about 20 minutes for a crane to hoist a modular building from the ground to its designated position, and workers only need to perform simple operations such as screwing and connecting pipelines. This construction method changes the complex situation of traditional on-site construction, reduces the workload and difficulty of on-site operations, and improves construction accuracy and quality.
In terms of application scale: Prefabricated assembly-type high-rise buildings have been widely applied in multiple cities. As of 2026, the scale of prefabricated buildings in Shenzhen has exceeded 150 million square meters, with prefabricated buildings accounting for as high as 64.03% of newly started projects in 2026. Starting from 2026, 100% of the residential land transferred in Guangzhou will implement prefabricated buildings; for commercial and industrial land, prefabricated buildings will be applied as much as possible where technically feasible, indicating that prefabricated assembly-type high-rise buildings hold an important position and have broad development prospects in urban construction.
In terms of technical types: They cover prefabricated concrete structures and steel structures, with components including prefabricated products such as beams, slabs, walls, and columns. These prefabricated components, through standardized design and production, can ensure the quality and performance of buildings while also providing possibilities for diversified building designs.
