Portable Toilet

Admin September 20, 2026

A portable toilet is a facility that can be moved as a whole and provides toilet services to the public, with various types and significant advantages.

Composition of Portable Toilets

Portable toilets generally consist of a fecal sewage storage tank (or fecal sewage treatment device), floor, sanitary ware, walls, washing equipment, water tank, roof, and moving device. These components work together to ensure that the portable toilet can function properly for toilet services.

Development History of Portable Toilets

Initially, portable toilets were made of materials such as wood, with relatively simple structures and functions, and were prone to absorbing odors. With technological progress, they gradually evolved to use materials like fiberglass-reinforced plastic and polyethylene, which offer better durability and odor resistance.

Classification of Portable Toilets

  • By structural form: They can be divided into single-structure portable toilets and composite-structure portable toilets. Single-structure toilets are relatively simple and suitable for places with limited space or low temporary demand; composite-structure toilets are more complex and have more complete functions, meeting the needs of larger groups of people.
  • By moving method: They are classified into lifting and handling portable toilets, and powered and trailer-mounted portable toilets. Lifting and handling portable toilets mainly rely on human or simple mechanical equipment for movement; powered and trailer-mounted portable toilets can be towed by vehicles, making movement more convenient and fast.
  • By sewage treatment method: They are divided into water-flush and non-water-flush suction portable toilets, circulating water-flush portable toilets, and dry-packing portable toilets. Water-flush and non-water-flush suction portable toilets treat fecal sewage through water flushing or suction; circulating water-flush portable toilets recycle the treated water to save water resources; dry-packing portable toilets pack the feces for treatment without using water.

Advantages of Portable Toilets

Portable toilets have the advantages of being movable, combinable, and easy to transport. They can be conveniently transported to any place where toilets need to be set up and can be used repeatedly. Their design follows the principles of easy movement, economic durability, environmental protection, resource conservation, improved efficiency, and promoting humanity. While meeting people's toilet needs, they also pay attention to environmental protection and the rational utilization of resources.
