Portable Toilet Flushing

Admin September 21, 2026

Portable toilets offer a variety of flushing methods, mainly including water-flush and waterless suction-flush types, recirculating water-flush types, gravity-flush types, intelligent water-saving types, and foam-sealing types.

Water-flush and waterless suction-flush types are relatively basic disposal methods. The water-flush type directly flushes excrement with water flow, directing it into storage devices or sewer systems; the waterless suction-flush type uses equipment such as vacuum pumps to generate negative pressure, sucking excrement into storage containers. This method is suitable for scenarios with high hygiene requirements and water supply, such as large event sites and construction sites. However, the water-flush type consumes a large amount of water, while the waterless suction-flush type has relatively high equipment and maintenance costs.

Recirculating water-flush types are an environmentally friendly and energy-saving flushing method. They are equipped with intermittent aerobic and anaerobic treatment devices for fecal sewage, and add biological strains, using biofilm technology to accelerate the decomposition of excrement. The treated water can be recycled for toilet flushing, significantly reducing water consumption. This type is suitable for use in water-scarce areas or places with strict environmental protection requirements, such as tourist attractions and remote mountainous areas.

Gravity-flush types are commonly found in the new lightweight plastic portable toilets of 2026. They are equipped with large-capacity freshwater and wastewater tanks, and achieve flushing through foot pump operation. When the foot pump is pressed, freshwater flows into the toilet bowl under gravity, flushing excrement into the wastewater tank. This method is simple in structure, easy to operate, and does not require additional power equipment, but the wastewater tank needs to be cleaned regularly.

Intelligent water-saving types achieve efficient water conservation by automatically collecting urine and hand-washing water, and adding water-saving special agents. They can automatically adjust the flushing volume according to different usage conditions, with about 0.46 liters of water per person per use being sufficient to achieve a clean flush. This type is suitable for places with high requirements for water resource conservation, such as schools, shopping malls, and other public places.

Foam-sealing types use foam to seal excrement, reducing odors and water consumption. Foam has lubricating and sealing effects, preventing excrement from coming into contact with air and thus reducing odor generation. At the same time, due to the presence of foam, the amount of water required for flushing is greatly reduced. This type is suitable for use in places with water shortages or high environmental hygiene requirements.
