Portable Toilet and Bathroom

Admin September 24, 2026

Portable toilets and bathrooms can be homemade using materials such as water storage tanks and pallets, or you can gain a comprehensive understanding by learning about their general composition.

Case of Homemade Portable Toilet and Bathroom

A young man made a portable toilet using a water storage tank and a pallet. The specific production process is as follows:

  • Install the mobile device: Fix universal wheels at the four corners of the bottom of the pallet to facilitate the movement of the entire toilet.
  • Process the water storage tank: Place the water storage tank retrieved from the garbage station. Use an angle grinder to cut along the marked line on the top of the tank to form an open tank. Stack two open-top water storage tanks upside down and fix them with self-tapping screws. Cut out a rectangular opening to form a doorway, providing space for the subsequent installation of sanitary ware and personnel entry and exit.
  • Install sanitary ware: Drill a hole in the floor inside the water storage tank, insert an elbow, and connect a water pipe. Install and fix the toilet to ensure its normal use and stability.
  • Install grooming equipment: Fix a water pipe on the wall with clips and install a faucet. Use a stainless steel basin to make a washbasin and fix it on the pipe cap below the faucet. Connect the water inlet pipe of the toilet tank and the shower hose, install the toilet seat and the spray-type showerhead to meet daily grooming and toilet cleaning needs.
  • Make and install the door: Make a door for the toilet using wooden boards and hinges and install a door handle to ensure the privacy of the toilet.

General Composition of Portable Toilets

A portable toilet generally consists of multiple parts:

  • Fecal sewage storage tank (or fecal sewage treatment device): Used to store or treat fecal sewage to prevent environmental pollution caused by random sewage discharge.

  • Sanitary ware: Such as toilets, are key equipment to meet basic toilet needs.
  • Walls: Serve to separate spaces and protect privacy.
  • Grooming equipment: Includes faucets, washbasins, etc., facilitating users' grooming and cleaning.
  • Water tank: Stores clean water to provide a water source for sanitary ware and grooming equipment.
  • Roof: Blocks wind, rain, and sunlight to protect internal equipment and users.
  • Mobile device: Such as wheels, facilitating the overall movement and arrangement of the portable toilet.
