Portable Toilet and Bathroom

Admin October 08, 2026

Portable toilets and bathrooms can be achieved through DIY methods or by purchasing ready-made products from the market, with the core lying in modular design and functional integration.

DIY Solutions

  1. Bucket Modification Method
Using buckets as the base material, construct the main structure through cutting and splicing. For example, install casters on wooden boards as the base, secure the cut buckets as water storage or sewage containers, extend and heighten the bucket body with aluminum-plastic panels and install bucket lids, and add wooden doors after cutting entry and exit points. The drainage system connects to floor drains through elbow drainage pipes, while the shower function utilizes PVC pipes spliced into showerheads, with metal tees installed to control water flow. The toilet drain pipe needs to be connected to the sewage pipe after drilling holes in the base, ensuring overall sealing to prevent leakage.

  2. Water Storage Tank Modification Method
Utilize the cylindrical structure of water storage tanks, forming open tank bodies through cutting and stacking them securely. For example, install casters at the bottom of a拖板 (assuming it means a trailer or skid), place two top-open water storage tanks, secure them with self-tapping screws, and cut rectangular openings as doorways. Install drainage devices (such as floor drains or drainage pipes) inside, secure the toilet and connect it to the water tank, while also installing faucets, sinks, and showerheads. The door can be made of lightweight materials (such as aluminum alloy or plastic) to reduce overall weight and facilitate movement.

Ready-Made Product Solutions

There are portable toilet and shower integrated products available on the market, such as metal-carved panel mobile toilets. These feature modular design, with an overall apple-pod shape, equipped with grille ventilation on the front wall, and integrated showers and squat toilets inside. The products consist of fecal sewage storage tanks, floor slabs, sanitary ware, walls, washing equipment, water tanks, roofs, and mobile devices. They can be classified into single-toilet or multi-toilet units based on structural form, towed or self-propelled based on mobility, and direct-discharge or circulating based on sewage treatment methods. These products offer advantages such as standardized production, easy installation, and comprehensive functionality, suitable for temporary locations like scenic spots and construction sites.

Core Design Considerations

Whether opting for DIY or purchasing ready-made products, attention must be paid to sealing, drainage efficiency, and mobility. DIY solutions require ensuring material corrosion resistance (e.g., selecting HDPE material for buckets or water storage tanks) and using waterproof glue at connections for sealing. Ready-made products necessitate checking the slope of sewage pipes, water tank capacity, and the load-bearing capacity of mobile devices. Additionally, functional integration should balance space utilization, such as achieving dry-wet separation between the shower and toilet areas through partitions or height differences.
