Portable Toilet

Admin September 27, 2026

Portable toilets generally refer to mobile toilets, which are facilities that can be moved as a whole to provide toilet services to the public. There are also portable commodes specifically designed for people with mobility impairments.

I. Mobile Toilets

  1. Suitable Locations: They are suitable for stations, docks, tourist attractions, villa areas, newly built residential communities, large construction sites, squares, densely populated public places, and bustling commercial streets, meeting the toilet service needs of both fixed and temporary locations.
  2. Composition and Structure: They are generally composed of a fecal sewage storage tank (or fecal sewage treatment device), floor slabs, sanitary ware, walls, washing equipment, water tanks, roofs, and mobile devices.
  3. Development History: Initially made from materials such as wood, they had simple structures and functions and were prone to absorbing odors. Later, they gradually evolved to use materials such as fiberglass and polyethylene.
  4. Classification Methods:
    • By structural form: They can be divided into single-structure mobile toilets and composite-structure mobile toilets.
    • By mobility method: They can be divided into hoisting and handling mobile toilets, and powered and trailer-mounted mobile toilets.
    • By sewage treatment method: They can be divided into water-flush and waterless-flush suction mobile toilets, circulating water-flush mobile toilets, and dry-packing mobile toilets.

II. Portable Commodes There are portable commodes specifically designed for elderly people, pregnant women, and others with mobility impairments at home. Their structural features include a deeper commode bucket with a handle and a cover for easy use. These portable commodes can be flexibly placed indoors as needed, providing convenient toilet conditions for people with mobility impairments and solving the difficulties they may face when going to fixed toilets.

III. Other Types There are also ultra-mini portable public toilets built with building blocks, full of a sense of technology. However, these are probably more conceptual or display designs and are relatively rare in large-scale practical applications.
