Mobile Toilets in Popular Tourist Attractions

Admin October 11, 2026

Mobile toilets in popular tourist attractions are characterized by innovative designs and flexible functions, with common types including dopamine-colored Apple Pod toilets and tidal toilets.

The dopamine-colored Apple Pod toilet is a new type of mobile toilet that has garnered significant attention in tourist attractions in recent years. Its overall design mimics that of an Apple Pod, featuring a unique and vibrant appearance, often utilizing dopamine-inspired color schemes to attract tourists' attention and become a scenic spot within the attraction. This toilet not only provides basic restroom facilities but also serves as a popular spot for tourists to take photos due to its distinctive design, enhancing the attractiveness and fun of the tourist site. Its mobility allows it to be flexibly arranged according to the flow of tourists in different areas of the attraction, meeting temporary or seasonal usage needs.

Tidal toilets, on the other hand, are an innovative solution designed to address peak restroom usage times in tourist attractions, particularly the issue of long queues for female restrooms. Taking the tidal toilets at West Lake in Huizhou, Guangdong Province as an example, they feature several "gender-neutral universal stalls" equipped with movable signs or lockable sliding doors. The usage rights of these stalls are dynamically adjusted based on real-time foot traffic. When there is a high demand for female restrooms, some of the universal stalls can be converted to female-only stalls to alleviate queue pressure; conversely, they can be adjusted to male-only or remain universal. This design effectively improves the utilization efficiency of restroom stalls. However, early versions faced controversy over confusion between male and female restroom areas due to the ease of changing signs, a problem that was later resolved by improving to fixed slot-type door signs.

Mobile toilets are generally composed of fecal sewage storage tanks (or disposal units), floor slabs, sanitary fixtures, walls, washing facilities, water tanks, roofs, and mobility devices. They offer advantages such as mobility, modularity, and ease of transportation. Their modular structural design enables quick installation and disassembly, adapting to the needs of different scenarios, especially suitable for temporary or long-term use in tourist attractions.
