Personalized Container House Cost
Admin September 15, 2026
The cost of personalized container houses varies due to multiple factors, and a unified price cannot be directly provided. The approximate range is from several thousand yuan to tens of thousands of yuan or even higher per square meter. The following introduces the cost situation from different aspects:

By Type
- Simple/Economy Type: With a simple structure, it is mostly used for short-term construction site dormitories, warehouses, etc., with a reference price of about 300 yuan per square meter.
- Standard Type: A common type, such as a light steel movable house with a framed double-slope roof, with a reference price of about 400 yuan per square meter.
- Luxury/Customized Type: With a better appearance and higher configuration, such as a luxury flat-top movable house, with a reference price of about 1000 yuan per square meter.
- High-end/Fully-furnished Type: Using better materials and interior decoration, it may include tile floors, real stone paint exterior walls, etc., suitable for long-term or high-end uses, with a reference price of about 2000 yuan per square meter.
By Purchase Form
- Sale: For a standard container house measuring 3 meters by 6 meters (about 18 square meters), the price of a basic new container house ranges from 'tens of thousands of yuan', while the second-hand price is usually within 10,000 yuan, with some priced at around 5000 yuan. The price per square meter varies greatly when converted.
Core Factors Affecting Price
- Material: Color steel plates are low in price but have poor sound insulation; rock wool sandwich panels are about 30% more expensive but offer better fire protection and thermal insulation; EPS core materials are low in cost but have slightly weaker performance. The thickness of the panels and the color steel skin also directly determine the price. For temporary construction sites, fire protection regulations mandate the use of rock wool fireproof panels.
- Specification: For areas less than 100 square meters, the unit price increases by about 10%; for areas greater than 500 square meters, it decreases by 10 - 15%; a two-story structure is 15 - 25% more expensive than the first floor.
- Region: Prices in first-tier cities are 10% - 30% higher than those in second- and third-tier cities; transportation beyond 50 km requires additional charges based on distance; in remote areas, labor and freight costs increase, leading to a rise in the unit price.
- Additional Costs: Foundation treatment may account for about 15% of the total cost.
- Project Volume: The larger the area, the lower the unit price; for small-area scattered construction, the unit price will be much higher.
