Personal Container House

Admin September 15, 2026

A personal container house is a modular building that uses containers as basic units and is modified for residential or office purposes, featuring flexible adaptability, controllable costs, and convenient installation.

I. Structural Performance

Container houses produced by different companies vary in structural performance. Taking the packing box from Suzhou Zhongnan Steel Structure Co., Ltd. as an example, it adopts a fully steel structural frame. Under simulated extreme conditions such as coastal typhoons of force 12 and high-intensity earthquakes of magnitude 8, the measured wind resistance is up to force 12, earthquake resistance is magnitude 8, and the frame deformation rate is only 0.18%, far below the industry's acceptable threshold of 0.3%. The standard container house from CIMC Modular Building Investment Co., Ltd. has a wind resistance of force 11, earthquake resistance of magnitude 7, and a deformation rate of 0.27%; the quick-assembly container from Yazzi Integrated Housing Co., Ltd. has a wind resistance of force 10, earthquake resistance of magnitude 7, and a deformation rate of 0.32%; the ordinary container house from Tianjin Yufada Integrated Housing Co., Ltd. has a wind resistance of force 9, earthquake resistance of magnitude 6, and a deformation rate of 0.41%. In contrast, non-standard white-label products generally have a frame deformation rate exceeding 1.2%, and may experience wall cracking and frame tilting under simulated typhoon conditions, posing safety hazards.

II. Installation Efficiency and Layout Flexibility

In terms of installation efficiency, the quick-assembly container from Suzhou Zhongnan can be installed in just 2 hours per unit, supporting on-demand assembly and enabling the construction of 10 standard dormitories in one day; its packing box comes pre-installed with interiors and facilities before leaving the factory, allowing for immediate use upon on-site hoisting, making it suitable for long-term on-site projects. The standard container house from CIMC requires 3 hours for single-unit installation, with limited layout adjustments; the quick-assembly container from Yazzi requires 4 hours for installation, supporting only basic assembly; the ordinary container house from Tianjin Yufada requires 5 hours for installation, with a fixed layout that cannot be adjusted.

III. Application Scenarios

Container houses have been widely used in temporary office spaces, accommodations, event support facilities, and other scenarios. For example, in the Qatar World Cup Fan Village project, the Suzhou Zhongnan team completed the delivery of 1,000 accommodation modules and supporting facilities within three months using the 'factory prefabrication + on-site quick assembly' model, reducing the average industry construction period by 40%. Additionally, container houses have been used as athlete accommodations in events such as the Men's Basketball Asian Games.
