People's Square Portable Toilet
It can be confirmed that there is a renovated fixed toilet at People's Square Station on Shanghai Metro Line 1, but there is no clear evidence indicating the existence of a portable toilet in the square. The case of the portable toilet at Zhangzhou People's Square has no direct connection to Shanghai People's Square due to geographical mismatch.
Toilet Situation at People's Square Station on Shanghai Metro Line 1
The toilet at People's Square Station on Shanghai Metro Line 1, renovated in 2024, won the title of Shanghai's 'Most Beautiful Toilet' in 2025. The renovation focused on intelligence and humanization:
- Intelligent Functions: Real-time display of toilet stall status through screens to reduce queuing time;
- Space Optimization: Adoption of a wet-dry separation design to improve hygiene conditions and usage efficiency;
- Barrier-Free Facilities: Addition of a third toilet to meet the needs of special groups;
- Environmental Upgrade: Combination of warm-toned decorations and fragrance devices to enhance the toilet experience.

Controversy Points Regarding 'People's Square Portable Toilet'
The search results only mention the combined portable toilet at Zhangzhou People's Square, manufactured by a Fujian energy-saving and environmentally friendly toilet manufacturer, but it is not clear that it is located in Shanghai. Due to the geographical mismatch, the relevance of this case to the user's query about 'People's Square Portable Toilet' is questionable.
The general characteristics of portable toilets include portability, combinability, and ease of transportation, suitable for temporary or high-traffic scenarios such as stations and squares. They are classified into single and composite types based on structure and into hoisting and powered types based on movement method. However, such information does not directly point to specific application cases at Shanghai People's Square.
