Container-Related Projects
Pengze County has the Jiangxi Hongguang International Port Container Rail-Water-Road Intermodal Comprehensive Hub Project. This project is constructed by Jiangxi Hongguang International Port Storage and Transportation Co., Ltd. with a total investment of 227.779 million yuan. It mainly focuses on the construction of a dangerous goods container yard and supporting facilities. The project is located in the Hongguang Operation Area of Penghu Bay Industrial Park in Pengze County, covering a total land area of approximately 70,405.92 square meters and a total construction area of 6,202.32 square meters, including a comprehensive building, a canteen, and a guard room. The designed annual throughput is 25,000 TEUs, of which the designed annual throughput of fireworks and firecracker containers is 8,000 TEUs, and that of Class 8 and Class 9 dangerous goods containers is 17,000 TEUs. The main construction contents include a fireworks and firecracker container yard (for storing Class 1.3G and Class 1.4G fireworks and firecrackers, with a ground container capacity of 96 TEUs and a stacking height of 1 layer), a Class 8 and Class 9 dangerous goods container yard (for storing Class 8 and Class 9 dangerous goods, with a ground container capacity of 102 TEUs and a stacking height of 2 layers), as well as supporting facilities such as building construction, water and electricity supply. The project is planned to start construction in September 2025, with a supervision service period of 36 months.
Port Development Situation
Jiujiang Hongguang International Port, located in Pengze County, is the largest and highest-standard container port in Jiangxi Province. The port occupies 2,700 meters of the Yangtze River shoreline. Since its official opening for operation on October 28, 2020, it has shown a strong development trend. From January to July this year, it completed a container throughput of 265,000 TEUs and is expected to complete 400,000 TEUs for the whole year. In the first 10 months, it completed a container throughput of 388,000 TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 55.2%, and is expected to complete 450,000 TEUs for the whole year. Hongguang International Port has successfully passed the acceptance as a national first-class port. It has opened more than ten shipping routes to multiple ports upstream and downstream of the Yangtze River in China and has also launched a daily service to Shanghai Port, enabling seamless connection between Jiangxi's inland ports and the Shanghai International Shipping Center. All foreign trade containers departing from Hongguang International Port are transported to Shanghai Yangshan Port or Taicang Port for transshipment to ocean-going vessels and then directly reach 156 countries around the world, truly achieving access to both rivers and the sea.
