How to Use Outdoor Portable Toilets

Admin October 08, 2026

The usage methods of outdoor portable toilets vary depending on their types, mainly divided into two categories: portable movable toilets and mobile toilets rented for construction sites/outdoor use. Here are the specific usage instructions:

Usage of Portable Movable Toilets

  1. Fixation and Preparation
Before use, place the toilet on a stable ground and ensure that the straps and buckles are firmly fixed to prevent sliding or tipping during use. Some models require pre-filling the water storage tank (white tank) with clean water for subsequent flushing; for dry toilets, no water filling is needed.

  2. Usage Process
Simply open the toilet lid for normal use. When flushing, if it is a water-flushing type, press the flush button or pull the flush lever to clean the toilet bowl with water from the storage tank; dry toilets do not require flushing and rely on special materials to absorb odors.

  3. Cleaning and Maintenance
After use, press the buckle to separate the black tank (containing excrement) from the toilet body. The black tank should be promptly emptied at designated sewage disposal points (such as public toilets or septic tanks) to avoid pollution from indiscriminate disposal. After emptying, rinse the black tank with clean water and add a special degradation agent to reduce odors.

Usage of Mobile Toilets Rented for Construction Sites/Outdoor Use

  1. Site Selection and Fixation
Site selection should take into account both safety and convenience: stay away from dust-raising points, heavy machinery operation areas, and low-lying areas prone to waterlogging, and prioritize locations with higher elevations and smooth drainage. When fixing, use expansion bolts (for hard ground) or counterweights (for soft ground) to reinforce to prevent tipping due to strong winds or human collisions.

  2. Drainage System Management
Ensure that the drainage ditches around the toilet are unobstructed to avoid waterlogging from rain. For septic tank-type toilets, regularly check the capacity of the septic tank and promptly contact a professional company to pump out the excrement; for direct-discharge types, confirm that the sewage pipes are connected to the municipal system or compliant disposal points.

  3. Daily Cleaning and Disinfection
Clean at least once a day, focusing on wiping high-frequency contact areas such as toilet bowls, door handles, and hand-washing sinks; conduct thorough disinfection once a week using chlorine-containing disinfectants or special cleaning agents, and maintain ventilation. At the same time, regularly check the water and electricity lines (such as lighting and flushing systems) and flushing equipment (such as water tanks and water pumps) for normal operation.

Precautions: Read the product manual before use to confirm the operating steps; wear gloves and masks when cleaning the black tank or septic tank to avoid direct contact with excrement; if the toilet is found to be damaged or has abnormal odors, stop using it immediately and contact maintenance personnel.
