Storage of Outdoor Portable Toilets

Admin October 06, 2026

The storage of outdoor portable toilets should follow a scientific process, with the core being timely handling, standardized operation, and meticulous maintenance. The specific steps are as follows:

1. Immediate Sealing After Use

After use, the excreta collection device should be sealed immediately. If the toilet is equipped with a dedicated garbage bag or collection bag, the bag opening should be tightly tied to prevent odor diffusion. If it has a lid design, the lid should be closed promptly to block odors. This step is crucial for avoiding pollution spread and odor retention, with particular attention to the tightness of the seal to prevent leakage during transportation.

2. Standardized Disposal of Excreta

  • Portable toilets/collection bags: After defecation, a coagulant or deodorant should be added to solidify the excreta and reduce odors, followed by sealing it in a dedicated garbage bag for disposal.
  • Biodegradable system equipment: For example, "vehicle-mounted packing toilets" utilize microorganisms to decompose excreta into stable solids and liquids. The liquid should be disposed of in accordance with local environmental regulations (e.g., poured into designated drainage outlets), while the solid portion can be handed over to a professional agency for recycling or disposed of according to the instructions.
It is strictly prohibited to discharge untreated excreta directly into the natural environment to avoid polluting soil or water sources.

3. Equipment Cleaning and Deodorization Maintenance

  • Basic cleaning: After removing waste, use a damp cloth dipped in dish detergent or a dedicated cleaning agent to wipe the toilet bowl or inner bucket to remove surface stains.
  • Stubborn stain removal: If there are stubborn stains that are difficult to remove, a cleaning agent containing decontamination and disinfection ingredients can be used, or a natural combination of baking soda and white vinegar (mixed in a 1:1 ratio, applied, and wiped after standing for 5 minutes).
  • Electronic component protection: If the equipment contains electronic components (e.g., a flushing device), avoid direct water flushing and only wipe the surface with a damp cloth.
  • Odor prevention: Before each use, a small amount of deodorizing gel or disinfectant pad can be placed in the inner bucket in advance to inhibit bacterial growth at the source.

4. Drying and Structural Inspection

After cleaning, ensure that all key parts (especially folding joints and around electronic components) are completely dry to prevent bacterial growth in humid environments or rusting of metal parts. At the same time, regularly check the tightness of the folding joints. If any looseness is found, adjust it promptly to avoid damage due to unstable structure during storage.

5. Standardized Storage and Weight Limit

  • Folding toilets: Fold according to the design and lock the buckles to ensure that all parts fit tightly, reducing space occupation.
  • Packing toilets: After folding, place them in a dedicated storage bag to avoid sharp objects scratching the outer shell.
Note: When storing, strictly adhere to the product's weight limit. Overloading may cause structural deformation or damage, affecting subsequent use.
