Outdoor Movable Toilet
An outdoor movable toilet, also known as a portable toilet, is a facility designed to be moved as a whole to meet the toilet needs of temporary or fixed locations.

Portable toilets are suitable for a wide range of scenarios, including stations, docks, tourist attractions, villa areas, newly built residential communities, large construction sites, squares, and bustling commercial streets—areas with dense populations. Their core function is to provide convenient toilet services to the public, especially in scenarios where traditional fixed toilets are difficult to cover or have high construction costs.
In terms of structural composition, portable toilets typically include modules such as fecal sewage storage tanks (or disposal devices), floor slabs, sanitary ware, walls, washing equipment, water tanks, roofs, and moving devices. Early products were mostly made of wood, which had issues such as easy absorption of odors and poor durability. Modern portable toilets, however, generally use lightweight and high-strength materials like fiberglass-reinforced plastic and polyethylene, which offer corrosion resistance, easy cleaning, and environmental friendliness.
According to structural form, portable toilets can be divided into two categories:
- Single-unit structure: Designed as an independent unit, suitable for scenarios with limited space or temporary needs, such as small construction sites or event venues.
- Composite structure: Composed of multiple functional modules, it can be expanded into a multi-toilet, multi-functional comprehensive facility, commonly seen in large events or long-term use scenarios.
Based on the method of movement, portable toilets can be classified as:
- Lifting and handling type: Relying on lifting equipment or manual handling, suitable for short-term, low-frequency movement needs.
- Powered and towed type: Equipped with a power system or towing device, it can be quickly deployed through vehicle traction, suitable for frequent movement or long-distance transportation scenarios.
The method of sewage treatment is an important basis for classifying portable toilets:
- Water-flush and waterless suction type: Feces are collected into storage tanks through water flushing or vacuum suction, requiring regular cleaning, suitable for areas with water sources or sewage discharge conditions.
- Recirculating water-flush type: Using biodegradation or chemical treatment technology to purify sewage, achieving water resource recycling, with outstanding environmental friendliness.
- Dry-packing type: Using degradable bags to collect feces, no water source is required, suitable for remote areas lacking water or sewage discharge facilities.
In addition, portable toilets have also derived specialized designs. For example, rustic-style portable toilets feature thatched roofs, equipped with rain-proof areas, public washbasins, and beauty mirrors. The wall panels and doors are uniformly colored, and additional partitions are added in men's toilets, balancing practicality and aesthetics. Portable outdoor toilet tents, centered around folding toilets and paired with curing agents and garbage bags, meet the lightweight needs of self-driving travel or emergency scenarios.
