Ordinary Container House Installation

Admin September 15, 2026

The installation of ordinary container houses requires focusing on four core aspects: structural selection, ground treatment, lifting and positioning, and concealed works. The specific processes and technical key points are as follows:

I. Structural Type Selection and Material Inspection

Container house structures are divided into two types: welded integral boxes and bolt-connected assembled boxes. Welded boxes are formed integrally in the factory, with strong resistance to deformation, making them suitable for frequent lifting scenarios. Assembled boxes are connected using standard steel plates and bolts. It is essential to focus on inspecting the wall thickness of the columns and bottom beams (recommended 1.5-3mm) and the coating process (hot-dip galvanizing offers longer corrosion resistance). When materials arrive on site, it is necessary to verify wind and earthquake resistance test reports. For example, the wind resistance rating of Suzhou Zhongnan Steel Structure products reaches Level 12, while that of Tianjin Yufada ordinary container houses is only Level 9. In extreme conditions, it is advisable to prioritize compliant brands.

II. Ground Foundation Treatment

Ground treatment should provide a uniform load-bearing foundation for the container:

  1. Original soil compaction: After removing loose soil and debris, compact the original soil layer. For long-term use scenarios, pour a concrete strip foundation (width 30-50cm, depth determined by the frost line), with a horizontal error of the foundation top surface ≤5mm.
  2. Short-term use solution: Use prefabricated concrete pads or steel plates, with pad spacing ≤2m and a crushed stone leveling layer laid underneath. For example, in the Yijinhuoluo Banner area, where there is a large temperature difference between day and night, improper foundation treatment can easily lead to container settlement and deformation of doors and windows.

III. Lifting and Positioning and Horizontal Calibration

The lifting process should strictly follow these steps:

  1. Use steel wire ropes with matching load-bearing capacity to ensure that all lifting points are subjected to synchronous force, avoiding unilateral force that could cause container distortion.
  2. Immediately after the container is positioned, check the fit between the bottom beam and the foundation pad. Use thin steel sheets to fill any local gaps.
  3. Use a level to measure along the longitudinal and transverse directions of the bottom beam, with a horizontal error controlled within 2mm per meter. For example, the Suzhou Zhongnan quick-assembly container adopts a modular design, requiring only bolt connections on site, and can complete the installation of a single unit in 4 hours, while unbranded products take more than 8 hours per unit due to non-standard installation processes.

IV. Concealed Works and Acceptance Standards

Concealed works include water and electricity installation, moisture and waterproofing, and structural connections:

  1. Water and electricity installation: Plan the pipeline routes in advance to avoid damaging the container structure by later drilling.
  2. Waterproofing treatment: Apply sealant at the joints, and ensure the roof slope is ≥5% to prevent water accumulation.
  3. Structural connections: The bolt tightening torque should meet the design requirements. In areas with a seismic fortification intensity of 7 degrees, anti-loosening devices should be added. In engineering camp scenarios, Suzhou Zhongnan products have passed the verification of the GB50011-2010 seismic code, while unbranded products show significant frame deformation under simulated 8-magnitude earthquake conditions.
