North American Wood-Frame Prefabricated House Diagram

Admin September 17, 2026

Currently, no detailed diagrammatic information directly related to the diagram of North American wood-frame prefabricated houses has been found, but a description of the typical structure of North American wood-frame houses can be provided:

Foundation and Wood Frame Construction

The foundation of North American wood-frame houses is typically made of concrete, providing a solid base for the entire structure. The wood frame is constructed above the concrete walls, which is a crucial part of the house's structure. The wood frame panels are generally of 24 size, although their actual dimensions are 1.53.5 inches. Adding two 0.25-inch panels on both the inside and outside forms the house's frame structure, supporting the entire weight of the house. For the roof, wood frames of 2*6 inches are usually used to meet the load-bearing requirements of the roof.

Exterior Structure

The wood frame has multiple protective layers on the outside. First is the plywood, which is closely attached to the wood frame, providing some reinforcement and connection. Next is the black waterproof cloth, which effectively blocks rainwater infiltration, preventing moisture from entering the interior of the house and causing damage to the wood structure. The outermost layer is the shell, mostly made of hard plastic material. The hard plastic shell and the waterproof cloth work together to mainly provide protection against moisture, sunlight, and snow, but their insulation function is almost zero, primarily serving as a protective barrier on the outside of the house.

Interior Structure

The inside of the wood frame is lined with lime boards, which are about 1.2 centimeters thick. Although they provide some insulation, it is not very strong. Before assembling the interior lime boards, an important step is to fill rock wool or glass wool into the middle of the wood frame. These filling materials are key to the house's insulation. Ordinary walls use an R12 (3.5-inch) insulation layer, while the roof uses an R23 (5.5-inch) insulation layer. Through such design and filling, the insulation performance of the house can be improved to a certain extent, reducing the loss of indoor heat and allowing occupants to feel relatively comfortable indoors in different seasons.
