Mobile Toilets at Night Market Stalls
There are mainly two forms of mobile toilets at night market stalls: personal modifications and government installations.

Personal modifications: Some individuals modify ordinary pushcarts into makeshift mobile toilets. For example, in Chengdu's snack street, an elderly man has modified an ordinary pushcart, partitioning the interior with curtains. Although these makeshift mobile toilets are relatively crude, they can, to some extent, address the urgent need for restrooms among tourists, attracting many visitors. However, they also pose significant hygiene risks. As they are privately operated, there is no unified standard for disinfection frequency, relying solely on the individual's initiative, which may not ensure regular and effective disinfection. Moreover, there is no standardized process or facility for sewage treatment, leading to potential random discharge of sewage. This not only affects the environmental hygiene of the night market but may also cause pollution to the surrounding soil and water sources, which is not conducive to the sustainable development of the night market in the long run.
Government installations: Relevant government departments actively take action to meet the restroom needs of night markets. For instance, the Longchang City Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Bureau has built and put into use mobile public toilets to meet the restroom needs of vendors and tourists at the "Starlight Night Market". These mobile public toilets are relatively well-equipped, featuring two single stalls with蹲便器 (squat toilets), washbasins, lighting fixtures, etc., providing users with a relatively comfortable and convenient restroom environment. Additionally, two cleaning staff members are assigned to handle the daily cleaning and maintenance of the mobile public toilets, ensuring timely removal of waste and disinfection, creating a hygienic and clean restroom space for tourists.
Furthermore, there are calls for the government and relevant departments to place more mobile toilets at appropriate locations in night markets to further address the issue of "difficulty in finding restrooms" and enhance the overall service level and tourist experience of night markets.
