New Type Prefabricated Wall for Modular Housing

Admin September 18, 2026

The new type of prefabricated wall for modular housing mainly includes three types: prefabricated walls in modular buildings, quick-built walls, and new prefabricated wall panels.

Prefabricated walls in modular buildings: Modular buildings adopt a combination of factory prefabrication and on-site assembly, dividing the building into independent modules. Each part, including the walls, is manufactured in the factory and then transported to the construction site for assembly. For example, in a public housing project in Shenzhen, Guangdong, five residential buildings nearly 100 meters high were assembled from 6,028 concrete modules, with the walls prefabricated in the factory as part of the modules. This approach not only improves construction efficiency but also ensures consistent building quality, reducing the complexity and uncertainty of on-site construction.

Quick-built walls: Quick-built walls are a type of prefabricated lightweight wall material, primarily composed of calcined gypsum or industrial by-product gypsum, with the addition of alkali-free glass fibers and additives to form hollow panels. These wall panels have standard dimensions, are lightweight, and weigh over 85% less than single-brick walls. The panels are hollow in the middle, containing a gypsum concrete grid framework structure that facilitates the simultaneous cutting and shaping of electrical conduits and water supply branches during the prefabrication stage. Quick-built walls are prefabricated in the factory and then transported to the site for assembly, with extremely high construction efficiency—only 45 minutes are needed to complete 300 square meters of wall area. Additionally, quick-built walls have horizontal elastic structural properties, making them suitable for internal and external partition walls and load-bearing walls in commercial and industrial buildings. When combined with steel structural systems, they can also be used to construct low-rise residential buildings.

New prefabricated wall panels: These prefabricated panels are easy to install and can be directly adhered to walls without the need for cement or complicated construction processes. Simply apply glue, and the wall will be transformed with perfectly aligned lines. New prefabricated wall panels also offer waterproof and fireproof properties, enhancing the safety and durability of buildings. The emergence of these panels provides a new option for wall decoration, especially suitable for situations requiring rapid renovation or remodeling.
