New Style Container House Diagram

Admin September 15, 2026

New-style container houses are typically transformed from single or multiple containers, resembling containers in appearance but with complete internal functions. They can be quickly constructed into various buildings such as residences, hotels, and schools through modular assembly, featuring rapid construction, flexible combination, and lower costs.

Appearance and Structural Features

New-style container houses use standard containers as basic units, retaining the external contours and structural strength of containers while transforming the internal space through cutting, welding, and window installation. For example, a family container house in a Jiangsu town is assembled on the original foundation to form a complete living space; a Danish man built a family residence using nine containers, arranged in different directions with large glass windows, ensuring both natural light and showcasing the unique corrugated metal texture of containers.

Function and Interior Design

Container houses have complete internal functions and can be designed as residences, hotels, schools, etc., according to needs. For instance, a small guesthouse hotel is composed of four 6-meter-long containers, with sanitary facilities, a technical room, and a storage room downstairs, and guest rooms and a terrace upstairs; the container house in the Jiangsu town is reasonably planned internally, equipped with air conditioning, insulation layers, and separate wet and dry bathrooms, providing a high level of living comfort. Additionally, container houses can achieve energy self-sufficiency and environmental protection goals through solar photovoltaic power generation systems and rainwater collection systems.

Construction Methods and Advantages

The construction methods of container houses are flexible and diverse, allowing for rapid assembly on-site after prefabrication in factories or direct modification on-site. For example, a 100-square-meter single-story mansion in Costa Rica is assembled from two containers, with on-site construction taking only a few days; the container house in the Jiangsu town is elevated on pile foundations for moisture and heat insulation. Their advantages include rapid construction speed, lower costs, strong mobility, and environmental sustainability, making them particularly suitable for areas with inconvenient transportation or temporary building needs.
